National Institute of Technology Admission
NITs offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. Getting into any of the NITs is a tough competitive process. Scores of students each year appear for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams to get admission into the top colleges in India.
Admission to NITs is based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination. Candidates who clear the cut-off are eligible to attend the JoSAA counselling process through which the admission process takes place.
Detailed below is the procedure for admission at the National Institute of Technology:
Application Process
Candidates interested in getting admission to the NITs must fill out the entrance examination application form required for the courses. NITs accept JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and GATE scores.
It is important that candidates furnish all the details correctly. In case of any discrepancy found in the information submitted, the candidature will be cancelled.
Admit Card
Candidates who submit the application form successfully will be issued an admit card. The admit card contains crucial information such as exam date, exam centre, time, exam day guidelines, etc.
Candidates must retain their admit card till the end of the admission process. It acts as proof of their candidature and will be required during the time of counselling process. They must also check every detail mentioned on the hall ticket.
Examination
Candidates must ensure to follow all the exam day guidelines prescribed by the exam authorities. They must arrive at the allotted venue on time. Candidates must carry all the essential documents such as government ID proof, admit card, photographs, etc.
Aspirants must all sign the attendance sheet presented by the invigilator. They must maintain decorum and must not disturb the environment.
Result and Cut Off
After the successful completion of the examination, the result and cut off will be declared. The result will consist of candidates' ranks and scores. Candidates who will clear the cut off will be called for the counselling process.
Counselling
Candidates must register for the counselling process. Once registered, they must all submit their choice of colleges and pay the requisite fee. As per the rank list or merit list, candidates will be allotted their colleges. Once the seats are allotted it will be released as the seat allotment result.
Once allotted, candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee to secure their seat. They must then report to the concerned college within the given dates.

NIT 2024 Cut Off
