TNEA stands for ‘Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission’, and the applicants are assigned unique IDs, which are known as TNEA Random Numbers. This TNEA Random Number is a 10-digit number that assists the DoTE body to resolve any ties found during their rank list preparation process. How to Check TNEA Random Number 2024?

Here are the steps involved if you’d like to check what your TNEA 2024 Random Number is:

• Step 1: Visit the official TNEA website.
• Step 2: Click ‘Login’ when you are taken to the homepage.
• Step 3: Register or Login using your E-mail ID and password.
• Step 4: After logging in, your TNEA random number will be displayed on the screen and you will also receive an SMS on your phone.

TNEA Random Number 2024 Tie Breaking Policy

To draw the final rank list, the DoTE synthesise the random number and TNEA tie-breaking policies into their calculations. There are a total of 5 tie-breaking policies, and these are applied only if two or more candidates secure the same rank.

Applying these policies will help resolve the conflict eventually. If the conflict persists, then additional tie-breakers are applied until the final one.

• Tie-Breaker 1: Candidates achieving high marks in Mathematics will get a higher ranking
• Tie-Breaker 2: If the tie situation prevails, candidates achieving high marks in Physics will get a higher ranking
• Tie-Breaker 3: Suppose the tie is still not resolved, candidates achieving high marks in the fourth optional subject will get a higher ranking
• Tie-Breaker 4: Further, candidates older in age will get a higher ranking
• Tie-Breaker 5: Candidates whose TNEA random number is higher will get a higher ranking.

As mentioned before, the TNEA random number is a unique ID, so it can never be the same between candidates. This makes it the ultimate tie-breaker, just in case every other tie-breaker fails, no matter how unlikely that scenario appears to be.

TNEA Rank List 2024

The authorities responsible for the admission process released the TNEA rank list 2024. This was done in online mode. Candidates may also check the official TNEA 2024 website for details related to it using your login credentials.

The secured marks in the exam are used to help prepare the rank list. To balance it out, the authorities subtract marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics to a base of 200, wherein Mathematics is worth 100 marks, while Chemistry and Physics are worth 50 each.
