The ISC class 12 Maths syllabus 2024-25 covers relations and functions, algebra, calculus, probability, vectors, three-dimensional geometry, applications of integrals, and more. It is divided into three sections: section A is compulsory for all students, and candidates can choose between sections B and C.

Furthermore, the board will conduct the ISC 12 exams for Maths in February 2024 tentatively in pen and paper mode. The total weightage of the theory paper is 80, whereas the practical assessment contains 20 marks.

Students must familiarize themselves with the updated Maths ISC syllabus class 12 2024-25 to ensure success in the upcoming ISC examination. The revised syllabus enhances the logical and analytical abilities of the students. Chapter 1 - Relations and Functions
  1. Relations as: Types of relations: reflexive, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations. One to one and onto functions, inverse of a function.
  2. Functions: As special relations, concept of writing “y is a function of x” as y = f(x), Types: one to one, many to one, into, onto., Real-Valued function, Domain and range of a function, Conditions of invertibility, Invertible functions (algebraic functions only)
Inverse Trigonometric Functions: Definition, Domain, Range, Principal value branch, Elementary properties of inverse trigonometric functions, Applications of formulas
Chapter 2 - Algebra Matrices: Concept, Notation, Order, Equality, Types of matrices, Zero and identity matrix, Transpose of a matrix, Symmetric and skew symmetric matrices, Operation on matrices, Simple properties of addition, multiplication and scalar multiplication, Non-commutativity of multiplication of matrices. 
Determinants: Determinant of a square matrix (up to 3 x 3 matrices), Properties of determinants, Minors, and co-factors, Applications of determinants in finding area of a triangle, Adjoint and inverse of a square matrix, Consistency, inconsistency and number of solutions of linear equations. 
Chapter 3 - Calculus Continuity, Differentiability and Differentiation: Continuity and differentiability, Derivative of composite functions, Chain rule, Derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions, Derivative of implicit functions, Concept of exponential and logarithmic functions.
Applications of Derivatives: Tangents and normals, Rate of change of bodies, Increasing/decreasing functions, Maxima and minima
Integrals: Integration as the inverse process of differentiation, Integration by substitution, partial fractions, and by parts, Evaluation of simple integrals. 
Differential Equations: Definition, order, and degree, General and particular solutions of a differential equation, Solution of differential equations by separation of variables, Solutions of linear differential equations of the type: dy/dx + py = q, dy/dx + px = q
Chapter 4 - Probability Probability: Conditional probability, Multiplication theorem on probability, Independent events, Total probability, Bayes’ theorem, Random variable and its probability distribution, Mean of random variable

Chapter 9 - Linear Regression  Lines of regression of x on y and y on x, Scatter diagrams, Method of least squares, Lines of best fit, Regression coefficient of x on y and y on x
Chapter 10 - Linear Programming Introduction, Related terminology such as constraints, objective function, optimization, Different types of linear programming (L.P.) problems, Mathematical formulation of L.P. problems.

ISC Class 12 Maths Syllabus 2024 Individual Assessment

Students have to submit two projects, which will be conducted for 10 marks each. One project assessment must be from Section A and one from either Section B or Section C. Moreover, the subject teacher and a visiting examiner will assess or evaluate the project work. Marks alloted for each project are given below for the student's reference.
