Anna Adarsh College for Women was established in 1985 by the Punjab Association. The college started off with just 300 students and 17 staffs and now has 203 staffs and 5300 students. Anna Adarsh College is affiliated to University of Madras and is a premier self-financing college with an exceptional history of academic excellence. The college is accredited with “A” grade by National Assesment and Accreditation Council [NAAC].

Anna Adarsh College courses include 15 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate, 3 Research and 13 Certificate programs. The college has a team of well qualified and highly experienced faculty members. Anna Adarsh College has a good infrastructure facility with good classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, computer labs, library, canteen, restrooms, sports facilities, auditorium, bank, hostel, and a photography studio. 

There are well-equipped laboratories for science subjects, food science management, tailoring and computer labs with computers of latest configuration. The library has a collection of 46000 books on various topics. The library is subscribed to 38 magazines and 50 journals. A reading room with seating capacity of 150 students is available in the library. Students could make use of the computers available in the library for internet browsing. A photocopying machine is available in the library for students. To cater 5300 students the college has provided 69 restrooms in the campus. The main auditorium is centrally air-conditioned and has a seating capacity of 1300 people. There is a conference hall, with a seating capacity of 300 people, which is used for conducting meetings, seminars and lectures. 

The canteen provides hygienic and nutritious food at reasonable rates. There a coffee-day stall in the campus which provides beverages and snacks.

The campus has a branch and ATM of Karur Vysya Bank for banking transactions and college fees remittance. There is a studio with a woman photographer inside the campus for students and staff.
