Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT) was founded in the year 2002 and is run by the Federal Bank Officers' Association Educational Society (FBOAES). FISAT is a self-financing engineering college and is private. The Federal Bank Officers' Association (FBOA) is the sole representative body of all the officers who are at the Federal Bank. FBOA is an initiative of FBOA. In the Professional Education Sector FISAT holds a particular/ unique position in South India. Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT) has been developed and designed to be a Center of Excellence in its professional education. The motto of the institute is Focus on Excellence. In the education world, the institute has carved a territory for itself. In academics, extra-curriculum, co-curriculum activities, and placements, the students of FISAT have always performed well. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade and it has also received ISO 9001: 2015 certification from International Organization for Standardization.

Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT) Admission can be done by securing a rank in KEAM for government quota or by management quota. FISAT is located at Mookanoor which is near Angamaly in Ernakulum District in Kerala and is the birthplace of the establisher of The Federal Bank Limited, Late K.P Hormis. The campus of FISAT is christened Hormis Nagar to honor the memory of K.P Hormis. FISAT offers six undergraduate courses in Engineering, six postgraduate courses in M.Tech, an MBA program with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, etc and an MCA program. The institute approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Kerala Technological University and Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

FISAT Courses Offered:

The Federal Institute of Science and Technology offers two courses under Engineering discipline. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering have six specializations each. More information about the courses and specializations are mentioned in the table below.

FISAT Computer Science:

Computer Science and Engineering department was founded in the year 2002. The intake of the B.Tech Computer Science course is 120 and for M.Tech (CSIS) the intake is 24. Along with academics, the faculties of the institute encourage students to involve in various co-curricular activities. Many students get placed in many national companies and MNC's. In order to enhance the skills of the students, the department takes initiative in conducting many inter and intra college competitions. The department has opened its own incubation center and also an industry-institute partnership cell by collaborating with the established companies of IT. The department also conducts awareness programs for the public on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). The department has more than 800 systems and a High-Performance Computing Center in its well-equipped laboratories. Latest infrastructure facilities with advanced software labs, seminar halls, high internet speed and classrooms that are equipped with LCD projectors are provided for the benefit students.

FISAT Civil:

Civil department in the college was founded in 2002. During the initial days, the department offered courses such as Engineering Graphics, Basic Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics for first year students and Strength of Materials (Theory and Lab) for the students of Mechanical Engineering. B.Tech program was started in the year 2011 and M.Tech in Structural Engineering and Construction Management in 2014. The intake of the department is 120 for B.Tech and 24 for M.Tech. B.Tech course offered by the institute makes the students to identify, formulate and solve civil engineering problems which meets the performance specified, safety, objective, cost, time and other quality needs with ethical and professional responsibility. M.Tech course focuses on projects which are based on research to make them ready for further research, teaching and also make them industry-ready. Both the courses offered by the department emphasis on research-based projects and industry standards which can increase their skills in order to become a successful professional.

FISAT Electronics and Communication:

The EC department was founded in the year 2002 and is committed in providing quality education to its students. For B.Tech course, the intake of the department is 120 and for M.Tech the intake is 48. With dedicated and well-experienced faculties, the aim of the department is to impart awareness about the latest developments in the field of ECE and impart sound knowledge to its students. The department encourages its students to try their innovative research and develop new ideas. The students of ECE get placed in many reputed companies like Coreal, TCS, Tata Elexi, etc. Experts from industries frequently visit the department to give demonstrations or lectures on the current and latest developments in the field of Electronics and Communication.

Federal Institute of Science And Technology Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility for admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses is based on the policy and procedure which is decided by following the guidelines that are issued by the Government of Kerala, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and AICTE.

• For MCA (Three Year) course, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years with Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation level.
• For Lateral MCA (Two Years) course, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years with Mathematics and B.Sc (IT/ Computer Science) at 10+2 or Graduation level.
• The candidate must have secured the minimum percentage as prescribed by the KTU and other statutory authorities.
• The candidate should have cleared entrance examination which is conducted as per the rules of AICTE/ APJ/ Govt. by a competent authority.

FISAT Admission:

The admission in FISAT can be done either by Government Quota or by Management Quota. More information about admission is mentioned below.

• B.Tech admissions are done on the basis of merit through Management and Government Quota.
• The Govt. Quota seats are allotted based on KEAM rank by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations.
• The candidates have to apply online with college code and branch of preference when announced by the Commissioner of the Entrance Examination.
• For M.Tech, the candidate must download the application form for Management as well as Government Quota seats.
• The candidates then have to send the application form along with the application fee as Demand Draft and all necessary documents to the postal address of the institute.
