Saroj Mohan Institute of Technology [Degree Division] was established in the year 2003. The institute was established with the aim of providing the much need industry-oriented technical education. Currently, the institute is functioning as a joint venture with the Techno India Group. The Institute offers courses under the discipline of engineering. It also offers courses under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

The SMIT [Diploma Division] was established in 1999. It is the first of its kind and is considered one of the top diploma engineering colleges in West Bengal. Located in a pollution-free environment, the campus of the institute offers all the facilities essential for the overall growth of the students.
