Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, was established in 2016 by the Uttar Pradesh government, following the restructuring of the Uttar Pradesh Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Saifai, founded in 2005. The university was created through an Act (No. 15 of 2016) by the Uttar Pradesh legislature and is recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is composed of five faculties: Medicine, Dental, Paramedical Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy.

The university offers various postgraduate programs, including M.D., M.S. (106 seats), M.D.S. in Periodontology (3 seats), M.P.T. (12 seats), M. Optometry (6 seats), M.Sc. MLT (6 seats), and MRIT (6 seats) under the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences. It also offers M. Pharm. (24 seats) and M.Sc. Nursing (15 seats). For undergraduate programs, the university provides M.B.B.S. (200 seats) and 60 seats each in Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Optometry, Radiological Imaging Technology, Nursing, and Pharmacy, along with various diploma programs.

The university is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a 1050-bed tertiary care hospital with a 150-bed Emergency, Trauma, and Burn Centre. A new 528-bed super-speciality hospital has been inaugurated, and a 300-bed Maternal and Child Health Care hospital is under development.

UPUMS admissions are made annually through various national and state-level exams. The important dates related to admissions are tabulated below.

UPUMS Departments

UPUMS has five faculties, namely Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedical Sciences and Dentistry. Under these faculties, there are 51 departments that offer and conduct various courses and specialisations. There are 34 departments under Medical Sciences, 6 under Nursing, and 9 under Paramedical Sciences. Some of these are.

UPUMS Admission

UG Admission Process: UPUMS offers diverse academic programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels, including MBBS, BSc Nursing, BPharm, BMLT, BRIT, BPT, BOT, MD, MS, MDS, MSc, MMLT, MPT, MCh, and diploma courses like GNM and ANM.

Admission Overview

• MBBS: Admission is based on NEET UG scores and subsequent counseling.
• 15% seats are reserved under the All India Quota, with 85% for the State Quota.
• Eligibility: 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in PCB.
• Undergraduate Programs: Selection is through CPNET scores.
• Diploma Courses: Admissions are merit-based, determined by marks in the last qualifying exam.
• MD/MS: Candidates must qualify for NEET PG.
• MPT, MMLT, MSc, and MOT: Admission involves an entrance exam conducted by UPUMS.
• MCh: Selection is based on NEET SS scores followed by counseling.

NEET qualified candidates must participate in state-level counseling by DMET. Additionally, SC/ST candidates benefit from a 5% relaxation in eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English as a mandatory subject.
• A relaxation of 5% is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidates, requiring a minimum of 45% marks.
• The minimum age requirement for admission is 17 years.
• Following the NEET UG exam, candidates will be shortlisted for admission based on the NEET counselling.

Below are the UPUMS MBBS Cutoff 2023 for All-India Quota Seats.

PG Admissions: UPUMS offers postgraduate programs such as MD, MS, MDS, MSc, MMLT, MOT, and MPT in various fields of medicine, nursing, and surgery. Admission to MD/MS and MDS programs is based on NEET PG and NEET MDS scores. For MSc, MMLT, MOT, and MPT courses, selection is determined through an entrance examination conducted by UPUMS. UPUMS PG Eligibility Criteria 2024 The eligibility requirements for various postgraduate courses at UPUMS are as follows:

• MD / MS: Applicants must have completed an MBBS degree from a National Medical Council (NMC) recognized university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
• MDS: Candidates must have completed a BDS with at least 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• MSc: Applicants must have completed a BSc with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• MPT: Candidates must have completed a BPT with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• MMLT: Applicants must have completed a BMLT with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• MOT: Candidates must have completed a BMLT with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

UPUMS PG Selection Criteria 2024 The selection process for postgraduate courses at UPUMS is:

• MD / MS: Selection is based on the NEET PG scores, followed by counseling.
• MDS: Selection is based on the NEET MDS scores, followed by counseling.
• MSc/MMLT/MOT/MPT: Candidates are selected based on the entrance exam scores conducted by UPUMS.

UPUMS cutoff 2022 has been released. The cutoff is released separately for each exam. The cutoffs depend on the average performance of the students, the previous year's cutoffs and the difficulty level of the exams.
