CMA exam eligibility criteria 2025 are different for the three levels of exams: foundation, intermediate and final. The applicants are advised to check the criteria before applying for the exams to know who is eligible for CMA.

Only those who satisfy the CMA 2025 exam eligibility criteria set by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India are allowed to attend the three levels of the CMA examination.

CMA exam eligibility criteria 2025 differ for different levels. As the level increases, the criteria also changes. There is no upper age limit for the CMA exam and the applicant must be an Indian. Students residing in Dubai, Muscat and Bahrain can also write the exam.

CMA Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025 Foundation Course

There are certain criteria that are set by ICAI according to which the students are deemed eligible for appearing for the CMA foundation course exam. The student must hold either of the following educational qualifications to be eligible for writing the foundation exam.

  • The applicant must have passed class 10 or equivalent from a recognized Board or institution.
  • The applicant must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination of the scheme 10+2 from a recognized Board or an equivalent Central Government examination.
  • The applicant must have passed a National Diploma in Commerce examination conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education or a State Board of Technical Education under the All India Council.
  • The applicant must have a DIploma in Rural Service Examination held by the National Council of Higher Education.

The applicants who are waiting for the results of any of the above-mentioned exams can also apply for the CMA foundation course examination.

CMA Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025 Intermediate Course

The main criteria for students to be eligible to appear for the intermediate exam is that they should have passed the foundation course examination without which they are not allowed to write the inter exam. Apart from that, the students are considered eligible based on the following factors.

  • The applicant must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination of 10+2 and foundation course of the ICAI or graduated in any eligible discipline except Fine Arts.
  • The applicant must have passed the foundation part 1 of CAT of the institute (entry-level) or foundation part 1 examination and competency level part 2 exam of CAT conducted by the institute.
  • The applicant must have passed the foundation of ICSI or intermediate of ICAI of any sort with class 10+2.

The applicants waiting for their results for the foundation exams are also eligible to apply for the CA intermediate examination.

CMA Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025 Final Course

To attend the final course examination, the only eligibility criterion is that the applicant must have passed the foundation as well as the intermediate level course examinations.
