IELTS Band Scores
Separate scores will be given for each section of IELTS 2023 like Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The individual scores can then be averaged and rounded off to get an overall band score.

How Are Scores Calculated for IELTS Results?
The scores mentioned in the IELTS 2023 result are based on the scores given for each test component namely Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. These individual scores are then averaged. The overall band score given in the result of IELTS is the rounded score of the averaged individual scores. The average is rounded as given in the examples below

IELTS Result 2023 Validity
Each organization will set up a validity period that works for its purposes, the IELTS partners recommend a validity period of 2 years for the IELTS test results. This is based on the well-documented phenomenon of second language loss or attrition.
How to Access IELTS Test Results 2023?
There are two modes to access the IELTS test results.
IDP IELTS Results Online Mode
Candidates can check IELTS 2023 results online using the following steps.
- Step 1: Visit the official website. Click on Results.
- Step 2: Login using passport number and date of birth.
- Step 3: Enter the identification document number. Furnish more details such as Candidate number, Date of IELTS exam, and Date of birth.
- Step 4: IELTS Score will be displayed on the screen.
IDP IELTS Results Offline Mode
The results of the IELTS is delivered in the form of a test report to the candidate's address, which was entered in the IELTS application form. Usually, it takes 13 days from the date of the examination. Sometimes, due to strict quality control procedures, the results might get delayed. In such scenarios, you would get an email confirmation about the delay.
Or else, you could go to the Test Centre in person and get the score. But only if the test centre has such an arrangement.

IELTS Result 2023 Through Email
On the day of the results, candidates will receive an email from the British Council. Hence candidates are requested to keep checking their email after the exam.
IELTS Result 2023 from Exam Centre
Candidates can get the result from the exam centre:
- Candidates have to show their ID number or Passport.
- Candidates need to show the candidate number received on the exam date.
- Candidates who have registered for the IELTS 2023 through an exam centre will not be receiving the result via phone/email/fax.
IELTS Result 2023 - Test Report Form (TRF)
Test Report Form of IELTS is the official scorecard that is given to a candidate who has appeared for the exam. It is sent via post and the candidate can also access it online.
Only one TRF is provided to the candidate in the physical form. But the test results could be sent to five universities or organizations if the candidate has nominated them beforehand. The candidate can get additional copies of TRF by paying the administration fee. The maximum count for the additional Test Report Forms is Five.
The candidate needs to fill in a separate form for the additional TRF and pay INR 250 per copy for airmail or INR 1250 per copy for a courier to International Destinations.
Information Required to Access IELTS Score
The candidates can verify the IELTS overall band score by finding the average component band score. The list of things that the candidate should keep at hand to access his/her IELTS Score is as follows:
- Candidate's Identification Document Number
- Candidate Number that is provided at the test center
- Date of the IELTS Exam taken on.
- Date of Birth of the Candidate
Enquiry on IELTS Result 2023
The term "enquiry on result" (EoR) refers to the process of having the IELTS test re-marked. EoR must be applied within 6 weeks of the test date to be effective. The candidate has the option of marking simply one part or all of them. The candidate must fill out and submit the EoR form, as well as submit the original TRF and pay an inquiry fee. The entire process of having the scores re-marked will take an extra 6-8 weeks. The candidate will receive a full refund of the inquiry fee as well as a new TRF if the result is revised upward. Candidates can request five free additional copies of the TRF to receive colleges/universities. However, if the result stays the same, no refund will be given.
