NID DAT 2025 Reservation
NID DAT Reservation 2025 is a part of the admission process for the National Institute of Design (NID) Entrance Exam. The NID DAT 2025 Reservation policy provides equal participation to students from various categories.
The reservation policy is applied to students from the General-Economically Weaker Sections (Gen-EWS), Other Backward Classes Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) students, Scheduled Caste (SC) students, Scheduled Tribes (ST) students, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Students under the PwD category will be given a 5% horizontal reservation of seats from the parent category in each program. Additionally, the NID has a supernumerary quota of 15% for foreign nationals in its design courses. This implies that 15% of the seats in each program are reserved for international students.

NID DAT Reservation 2025 for General-EWS
The National Institute of Design reserves 10% of seats of its Bachelor and Master of Design courses for the Economically Weaker Section on all its campuses. The General category students can avail of the EWS quota only if they fulfil certain requirements that are listed below:
- Students must produce an Income and Asset Certificate from a competent authority.
- The annual family income must not be more than INR 8 LPA from all sources.
- The Income Certificate must be issued on or after Apr 1, 2023.
NID DAT 2025 Reservation: OBC-NCL
The NID DAT 2025 Reservation policy reserves 27% of the seats in the design programs offered at the National Institute of Design to students belonging to the OBC Non-Creamy Layer category. The students under this category must fulfil certain requirements to apply for this quota, such as:
- The name of the caste of the students must be available in the current Central List of Other Backwards Classes.
- OBC students from the Creamy Layer cannot apply under this category.
- Students must produce/upload a valid OBC certificate issued by a competent authority.

NID DAT Reservation 2025 for SC and ST Candidates
The NID DAT 2025 Reservation policy reserves 15% of the seats for Scheduled Caste students and 7.5% of the seats for Scheduled Tribe students for courses offered at the National Institute of Design. The students under the SC and ST categories must fulfil certain requirements to apply for this quota, such as:
- Students applying under this category must upload valid Caste/Tribe Certificates.
- The name of their Caster and Tribe must be mentioned in the Central List published by the government.
NID DAT Reservation 2025 for Foreign Candidates
The NID Reservation allows 15% seat reservation above the sanctioned intake for foreign national students. Students must fulfil certain criteria to be considered for foreign nationals and obtain the reservation of the supernumerary quota. The criteria for applying under this quota are as follows:
- Foreign students holding citizenship in a country other than India are eligible to apply under the overseas category.
- Foreign students cannot apply under the caste-wise category.
- Foreign nationals must pay the application fees as per the Overseas fees structure.
- NRI Indians holding an Indian passport are not eligible to apply.
