TNTET 2024 notification is likely to be released in December 2024, on the official website. About TNTET
The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) of Tamil Nadu conducts the Teacher Eligibility Test to determine the eligibility of the candidates as teaching professionals to teach students of classes one to eight. The candidates who qualify Tamil Nadu TET exam will be awarded an eligibility certificate with a validation period of seven years and will be considered eligible for Primary and Upper Primary Level posts of teachers in the state of Tamil Nadu.

TNTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates aspiring for the TNTET exam 2024 must check the eligibility criteria before appearing for the exam. The Teachers Recruitment Board has set the eligibility criteria for both TNTET Paper-I and Paper-II.
Candidates should fulfil all the TNTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria in terms of age limit, nationality and educational qualifications, or else they will be subjected to rejection under the authority of TRB.
TNTET Nationality
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
TNTET Age Limit
Applicants should be older than 18 and shouldn't cross the age limit of 40. For the reserved & special category, there will be the advantage of age relaxation.
TNTET Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for TNTET 2024 Paper-1 can have either of the qualifications listed below.
The minimum educational qualifications for applicants to attend TNTET Paper I are:
- Candidates should have done higher secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks. He/she should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or any other name it is known by.
- Applicants should have passed higher secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks. Along with this candidates should have passed a two-year diploma in Elementary Education by the NCTE regulations 2002. Final-year candidates also can apply.
- Students should have done Higher Secondary education or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks. They should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 4 years of Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Aspirants should have cleared Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. Along with it they should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Candidate should have passed graduation or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Applicants should have graduated with 50% marks and passed/appeared in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
Note: Candidates should note that if they have passed in D.T.ed./D.Ele. Ed. from other states than Tamil Nadu then they should submit an evaluation certificate. Candidates applying for TNTET 2024 Paper-2 can have either of the qualifications listed below.
Minimum Educational Qualifications for Applicants To Attend The TNTET Paper 2:
- Candidates should have graduated and passed/appeared in the final year of two years of a Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Applicants should have graduated with at least 50% marks. They should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- Students should have graduated with at least 45% marks. They should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), by the NCTE Regulations.
- Aspirants should have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. They should have also passed or should be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Students should have passed higher secondary with at least 50% marks. They should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.
- Candidates should have graduated with at least 50% marks. They should have also passed or should be appearing in the final year of B.Ed (Special Education).
- A candidate who has a B.Ed qualification from an institute which is recognized by the NCTE eligible to appear in TET.
- Students who are pursuing any of the teacher education courses which are recognized by the NCTE or the RCI.
TNTET Application Form 2024
The TRB Tamil Nadu TNTET application form is yet to be released online. While filling out the application form, candidates have to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting it.

Note: Once all the candidates have submitted the application form, the Tamil Nadu Recruitment Board (TRB) will not allow them to make any corrections to TNTET 2024 application form. So they have to fill in all the details carefully and proofread once before submitting the form.
TNTET Examination Fee
The Tamil Nadu TET 2024 examination fee for the general category candidates is INR 500. If the applicants belong to the reserved category (i.e., SC, SCA, ST, or Person with Disability) they should pay an examination fee of INR 250. Candidates must enter their category details correctly when filling out the TNTET 2024 application form since there is a no-refund policy.

TNTET Application Process
TRB will release the TNTET Application Form 2024 online and the candidates can follow these steps to fill out the application form.
- Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official website of the Teachers Recruitment Board - trb.tn.nic.in
- Step 2: On the homepage of the website, click on "Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) – 2024". A new page will be redirected.
- Step 3: Fill in all the mandatory details in the TNTET application form. Candidates must provide their details such as parent's name, gender, religion, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, category etc and education details such as graduation degree, year of passing, CGPA/percentage obtained etc.
- Step 4: A unique user ID and password will be generated at the time of form filling. The valid email address and phone number will be used for communication until the announcement of results.
- Step 5: Upload the recent passport-size photo of the candidate and the scanned image of the signature. The specifications of the document are given in the Tamil Nadu TET Exam 2024 application form section
- Step 6: In the final step candidates must pay the fee online through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. You should remember that there is no option to pay the fee through any offline modes.
- Step 7: Submit the application form before the mentioned date. After the application form is duly submitted, the candidate must download and take a printout of the completed TNTET 2024 application form for future reference.
Note:
- Candidates need to use separate applications for Paper I and Paper II.
- Any application form without an image and/or signature will be rejected.
- Candidates have to fill in the application form with utmost care. Else if they make a mistake then TRB won't entertain any correspondence regarding such matters and will reject the application form.
TNTET 2024 Recruitment
TRB does not offer recruitment through TNTET. Candidates should take another exam related to recruitment. TNTET will give a score which will be valid for 7 years. This score will be used as one of the factors for recruitment.
General Instructions
The following are the general instructions that the candidates should keep in mind during recruitment.
- Candidates who have scored marks 60% or above in TNTET in either of the papers will receive a pass certificate. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will get a relaxation of 5%.
- TNTET Score is valid for 7 years.
- A TNTET certificate doesn't guarantee you a job as a teacher. It merely serves as one of the factors in appointment as a teacher.
- According to the School Education (TRB) Department, as per G.O.(Ms)No.149 dated 20.07.2018, The candidates who have qualified for TNTET will have to appear in another competitive exam which is related to recruitment.
TNTET 2024 Admit Card
TNTET Admit Card 2024 will be published on the official website. Candidates need to visit the official website of the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to download the hall ticket. If a candidate has applied for both paper 1 and paper 2, he/she has to download both hall tickets separately.

TNTET Exam Pattern 2024
The TN TET Exam Paper Pattern along with the syllabus is given below and will help the students to plan and prepare for the exam. The question paper will consist of only MCQ types of questions. This means the candidates have to select one correct answer out of multiple options.
