GNM Nursing Admission 2024 is mainly based on state-wise entrance exams conducted by the state’s governing body of education. Some private colleges enrol students on a merit basis. Major entrance exams for GNM Nursing admission are WB ANM-GNM Entrance Exam, Kerala GNM, Tamil Nadu GNM, and Odisha GNM to name a few.

GNM Admission Eligibility Criteria

The GNM Nursing admission eligibility includes educational requirements, minimum graduation grades, age restrictions, nationality requirements, and results from entrance exams. The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for GNM admission eligibility in India:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • A student has to have a total aggregate of 45% in their 10+2 board examination. 
  • There is a GNM Nursing admission age limit which is set at 17 years
  • Students must have Physics, Chemistry and Biolog as the main combination to be eligible for the exam.
  • Along with the qualifying entrance exam criteria, the candidate also has to meet the merit criteria set by the preferred universities of their choice. 
  • 5% relaxation is granted for SC/ST category.

Selection Criteria

  • There may also be GD and PI rounds depending on the institutions, some may also conduct counselling sessions before admission.

GNM Admission in Government Colleges

GNM admission in government colleges is based on the state entrance examination. Below is the GNM admission process in government colleges:

  • First candidates need to register and sit for the state entrance examination of their respective states. 
  • Once they qualify and the merit list is published, they need to fill out the application form for the government colleges/ medical institutions they would like to join. 
  • After the application fee is paid, and if they are selected, they would need to go through GD and counselling as the final stages to enrol.
