IISER Berhampur post doctoral research fellowship in biological chemistry and nanomedicine was launched by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Berhampur. Candidates with a PhD degree in biological chemistry and nanomedicine can apply for the fellowship programme. The selected fellows will get an opportunity to work as a post doctoral research fellow and receive up to INR 54,000 per month as monthly pay. Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates should hold a PhD degree in the relevant field and consistently have a good academic record. Those who have submitted the thesis and are awaiting a PhD degree can also apply for the post doctoral research fellowship. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for the IISER Berhampur post doctoral research fellowship in biological chemistry and nanomedicine: 

• The applicants should hold a PhD degree in biological sciences/ chemical sciences or any related discipline.
• They should be less than 35 years of age.
• They should have strong interpersonal skills and should be willing to work in a team.
• The candidates can have a work experience of 0 to 5 years in the relevant field after obtaining their PhD degree.
• Depending on the research requirement, ISER will also consider outstanding candidates from other disciplines.
• The candidates joining the institute should have medical insurance of INR 1,00,000 for the duration of their stay.
• Foreign nationals and overseas citizens of India are also eligible to apply for the post doctoral research fellowship. 

For Candidates with a PhD Degree in Biological Sciences 

• The applicants with a PhD degree in biological science or relevant fields should have experience and molecular and cancer biology publications.
• They should be experienced in conducting various molecular biology experiments such as DNA/RNA work, PCR, western blot, RT-PCR and assay based on cell culture.
• The candidates should have experience in computational drug discovery and molecular modelling.
• The institute also prefers candidates with experience in, in vivo mouse tumour models for cancer. 

For Candidates with a PhD Degree in Chemical Sciences 

• The candidates with a PhD degree in chemical sciences should know the methods and principles of synthetic organic, bioorganic and medicinal chemistry.
• The institute expects the candidates to have a strong foundation in synthetic organic chemistry approaches and modern purification techniques.
• They should be able to troubleshoot and optimize the synthetic methods with limited supervision.
• The institute expects the candidates to comprehend and analyze the biological data. Using this information, they should be capable of designing better compounds. 

Rewards

The selected candidates will be known as Post Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF). The duration of the post doctoral research fellowship is one year. However, the institute might extend it for up to three years, depending on the fellow's performance. The selected candidates who are yet to receive a PhD degree will be called Research Associate (RA). The rewards for the IISER Berhampur post doctoral research fellowship in biological chemistry and nanomedicine are as follows: 

1. Depending on the availability, the institute will provide the candidates with suitable residential accommodation on the campus. If the accommodations are not available, the institute will offer HRA as per the norms of the government.
2. IISER will pay the candidates a consolidated monthly salary. However, it will vary according to their work experience.

Terms and Conditions

The important terms and conditions of the post doctoral research fellowship are as follows: 

• Each fellow is entitled to 28 days of annual leave in a year.
• The institute will provide only OPD medical consultation to the fellows as per the IISER norms.
• IISER will relax the minimum requirement of qualifications and experience for exceptional candidates.
• The management will not consider all the applications for the post doctoral research fellowship.
• The institute will follow reservation as per the government norms.
• The candidates living overseas can attend the interview through Skype.
• The institute will provide campus facilities to the post doctoral fellows similar to the UG and PG students.
