Pre Matric scholarship for OBC students is a centrally sponsored scheme that is implemented by the State governments/ UT’s. Students belonging to the Other Backward Castes (OBC) category are eligible for this scheme that is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The scholarship reward is upto INR 1,000.
The duration of the scholarship is 10 months. It is a great initiative to promote minority communities in our country to continue schooling and receive a good education in their pre-matric level for them to have a strong foundation and shine brighter in their future endeavors of pursuing subjects and courses of their choice. The last date to apply for the pre-matric Manipur scholarship on the NSP portal will be updated soon.

Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC Students Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is for OBC students in Delhi from economically weak sections of the society. The detailed eligibility criteria are mentioned below:
- The candidates should be a part of an institution that is recognized by the appropriate authority.
- Only candidates from classes 1-10 can apply.
- The candidate must belong to OBC category.
- The candidate must be a domicile of Delhi.
- The annual family income of the candidate should not be more than INR 44,500 per annum.
- The candidate must have at least 60% attendance in the previous year.
- The candidate must not be benefitting under any other pre-matric scheme.
Rewards and Benefits for Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC Students
The rewards and benefits based on the category are mentioned below:
- The scholarship amount for day scholars from class 1 - 5 is INR 250.
- The ADHOC grant for day scholars from class 1 - 5 is INR 500.
- The scholarship amount for hostelers from class 3 - 7 is INR 2000.
- The ADHOC grant for hostelers from class 3 - 7 is INR 500.
- The scholarship amount for day scholars from class 6 - 8 is INR 400.
- The ADHOC grant for day scholars from class 6 - 8 is INR 500.
- The scholarship amount for day scholars from class 9 - 10 is INR 500.
- The scholarship amount for hostelers from class 9 - 10 is INR 5000.
- The ADHOC grant for hostelers from class 9 - 10 is INR 500.
Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC Students Application Process
The students can obtain the application forms from the concerned state government or union territory's department. The applicants should fill in the application form and submit it back to the department within the last date. To know more, the candidates can click here.

Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC Students Selection Process
Applicants are selected by a dedicated selection committee. The detailed selection process is mentioned below:
- The selection of the awardees is based on the application and the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
- The decision made by the Selection Committee will be final and abiding.
