Is there a negative marking in MHT CET? No, there is no negative marking in the MHT CET exam. And the marking pattern will differ for subjects.

The MHT CET marking scheme is straightforward. Candidates will be awarded marks on the number of correct answers. The syllabus for the exam is based on class XI and XII syllabi. Therefore, the weightage of the class XII syllabus will more.

However, there will be questions from class XI as well.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 

The MHT CET exam will be held in two folds, PCM and PCB. PCM consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In contrast, PCB is consducted for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

• There will be questions from classes 11 and 12.
• The questions from class 12 will be more than class 11.
• The question paper will have a total of 150 questions.
• Thirty questions will be from class 11 and 120 from class 12.
• The mathematics questions will be of 2 marks each.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the MHT CET exam pattern. Candidates can refer to the pointers below to gain some overview.

• The exam will have two sections, i.e., Physics & Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology.
• The MHT CET exam will be conducted for 180 minutes, 90 minutes for each section.
• The first 90 minutes will be dedicated to section 1, i.e., Physics & Chemistry; after 90 minutes, the section will be automatically closed. Afterward, candidates must attempt the Mathematics/ biology section in the next 90 minutes.

THE MHT CET exam is held at a state level, but the exam is considered to be highly competitive. Therefore, after assessing the previous year’s MHT CET exam, it can be summarised as follows:

• Part 1/ Paper 1 questions are complex and parallel to JEE. 
• Paper 2, erstwhile PCB, is similar to the NEET questions. 
• Therefore, the MHT CET cutoffs are also on a higher scale.
