The UGC NET 2024 application form and notification for the December session have been released on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The National Testing Agency released the notification along with the application form on November 19, 2024.

The last date to apply for the UGC NET December session is December 10, 2024. However, the last date to pay the application fee is December 11, 2024. The exams for the UGC NET 2024 December session will be conducted from January 1 to 19, 2025 for 85 subjects. The correction window for the submitted applications will be available from December 12 to 13, 2024 (till 11:50 PM).

The basic UGC NET 2024 eligibility criteria for the candidates who want to apply for UGC NET exam is to have completed their master's degree or an equivalent, with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Earlier, the upper age limit for applying for UGC NET JRF was 31 years. It has been reduced by one year, i.e., up to 30 years, as of Jun 1, 2024, for the candidates who belong to the General category.

UGC NET Exam Centres 2024

UGC NET exam centres 2024 list for the December session will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). However, students can refer to the list of exam centres 2024 given for June sessin.

NTA has canceled the UGC NET exam for the June session, scheduled on Aug 27, 2024, for the Jaipur center. The conducting authority will issue a public notice regarding the re-examination.

UGC NET Syllabus 2024

UGC Chairman Jagdish Kumar has informed in a meeting that the UGC NET syllabus 2024 will be revised, and a committee will be framed to exercise smoothly. The updated syllabus will be released soon on the official portal.

UGC NET syllabus 2024 is decided by the National Testing Agency (NTA). UGC NET 2024 will have 2 papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. In addition, NTA has added a new subject 'Hindu Studies' (Subject code 102) to the list of subjects. UGC NET Cut Off 2024

After the results are announced, NTA will release the category-wise UGC NET cut off marks for the December session. Candidates can visit the official website to check the subject-wise cut off marks for different categories. For the General category, the minimum UGC NET qualifying marks for UGC NET 2023 is 40%, whereas for the reserved category, it is 35%.

They must note that the cut off marks depend on various factors like the number of vacancies available, the difficulty level of the examination, the total number of candidates appearing for the exam, etc.

The conducting authority, the NTA, decides UGC NET 2024 cut off marks. The cut off is the minimum qualifying marks a candidate must score to be eligible for Lectureship (LS) and Fellowship (JRF). A separate cut off list is prepared for category-wise eligibility and subject-wise eligibility.

UGC NET Counselling 2024

After declaring the UGC NET results 2024, the conducting authority will announce the counselling dates on the official website. UGC NET 2024 Counselling is only for the candidates who clear the examination. Candidates must have all their original documents ready for the procedure.

Candidates who acquire Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or a related subject. The number of seats available varies every year based on the requirements of the universities. UGC validates and inspects the universities in India before finalizing vacant positions.

The performance of the candidates in both the papers of UGC NET 2024 will be accounted for by awarding a JRF and eligibility for Lectureship (LS). Candidates qualifying exclusively for Lectureship (LS) will not be considered for JRF.

Fellowship is offered only to the candidates who qualify for the JRF mark. This will be provided by UGC or other institutions under various schemes. A monthly stipend of INR 25,000/- is provided during the period of research. The validity period of this offer is 2 years from the date of the issue of the JRF Letter.
