The Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate Examination decides whether a student is eligible to pursue higher education in the future. This Grading System is administered by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The Maharashtra HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate or 12th) Grading System follows specific rules and formats to evaluate every student's performance properly.
These formats consist of grading, grade points, and marks which give a complete overview of a student's performance. This Grading System is a standardized system that considers marks and grade points to declare the final result. Students who score above 75% receive a distinction grade, while students between 60%-75% receive 1st division, and likewise.
In addition, the Maharashtra Board is likely to announce the Maharashtra HSC results on May 17, 2024.
The Grading System of Maharashtra HSC exam is designed in such a way that it reflects the student’s performance throughout the year. Rather than relying on individual scores, it measures the overall performance, and grades are declared according to the marks range. The percentage calculation of the Maharashtra HSC Grades can be done easily in a few steps mentioned below.
For example, a student got A2, B1, A2, B1, and A2 grades in five different subjects. Therefore, the corresponding grade points will be 9, 8, 7, 8, and 9, respectively. The sum of all the grade points will be (9 + 8 + 9 + 8 + 9) = 43. Therefore, the average grade point = 43 / 5 = 8.6.
Hence, the percentage marks of that student = (8.6 / 10) x 100% = 86%
