Thomas, India’s first cardio-thoracic surgeon did his training at Stanley Medical College. The government hospital associated with the college has 1280 beds for in-patient treatment and has an out-patient attendance of more than 5000 patients daily. Stanley Medical College Admission is done on the basis of entrance exams score namely- NEET and NEET PG. SMC Admission 2024

Under the college, SMC admission 2024 offers courses in UG, PG and Doctoral Levels. The MBBS program is done on the basis of marks scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Admission to specialty courses like MD and MS and PG Diploma is done on the basis of marks scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations. SMC UG Admission 2024

Stanley Medical College, Chennai, offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for the duration period of 5.5 years. However, the eligible candidates need to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).

SMC UG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Details

5% marks relaxation for the candidates belonging to SC/ ST Category. Candidates must obtain a valid NEET UG rank to secure admission into the MBBS program. The minimum age limit to apply for NEET-UG for the MBBS course is 17 years. The maximum age limit for seeking admission is 25 years (For general) and 30 years (For reserved category). Candidates of the reserved category can seek admission with a minimum of 40% marks. Candidates of General PH, 45% is the minimum marks required for eligibility. Candidate must be an Indian. An Aadhar card is mandatory for applying for the MBBS program except for candidates of JK, Meghalaya, and Assam. Duration, of course, is 5.5 years and admission is done through NEET UG. 

SMC MBBS Admission

Stanley Medical College, Chennai, offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The duration period and intake capacity for the mentioned program is 5.5 years and 250 seats. The students who have studied and passed 10+2 level or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English are only eligible to seek admission in the above-mentioned program. However, the eligible candidates need to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).

SMC PG Admission 2024

The college takes admission for various PG Courses in various specializations such as MD, MS and PG Diploma. Candidates need to apply for their preferred course. The application form is available on the official website.

SMC PG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Details

Candidates must obtain a valid NEET PG rank in order to secure admission into the MD or MS courses. 5% marks relaxation for the candidates belonging to SC/ ST Category. Candidates must have completed the compulsory internship of one year. The admission committee may give more weightage to higher marks in graduation. Admission is done through NEET PG. The course duration is two years.

SMC MD & MS Admission 2024

The college also offers specialty courses like Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in various specializations for a duration period of two years. Admission to the above-mentioned courses is done on the basis of marks scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations.

SMC PG Diploma Admission 2024

Stanley Medical College also offers PG Diploma in several specializations. Candidates, after successful completion of the education in Graduation in MBBS, candidates may choose to pursue a PG Diploma. The duration period is two years and the intake capacity is 44 seats. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are eligible to participate in the admission process. Admission to the above-mentioned courses is done on the basis of marks scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations. Candidates must obtain a valid NEET PG rank in order to secure admission into the PG Diploma program. Candidate should have completed a one-year compulsory rotating internship after passing the final professional examination.

The college also offers super-specialty courses like Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) in various specializations for a duration period of three years each. The total number of seats available is 10 (DM) and 15 (M.Ch). Candidates who have studied and passed MD or MS in relevant discipline are eligible to seek admission in the above-mentioned super specialty courses. However, the candidates need to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Superspeciality courses (NEET SS) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

SMC Ph. D Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Details

Candidates must obtain a valid NEET SS rank in order to apply for the super-specialty courses. Candidates must hold an MD or MS degree in the relevant branch of study. The duration of this course is 3 Years. Admission is done through NEET SS.

SMC D.M & M. Ch. Admission 2024

The college also offers super-specialty courses like Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) in various specializations for a duration period of three years each. The total number of seats available is 10 (DM) and 15 (M.Ch). Candidates who have studied and passed MD or MS in relevant discipline are eligible to seek admission in the above-mentioned super specialty courses. However, the candidates need to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Superspeciality courses (NEET SS) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

SMC Application Form 2024

Admission to various courses is done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance exam conducted by the college. Every year college releases application forms for aspiring candidates. The application form can be obtained from the college official website. Candidates are requested to provide correct information. The application mode is online. The application process for NEET-UG is as follows. The mode of application is online and application fees can be paid online.

1. For online, one must have to pay through e-wallet, net-banking or Debit/ Credit card. The application fee is INR 1,400 for General and OBC category candidates, and for ST /SC candidates the fee is INR 750.
2. Mandatory Documents required for admission are:
   • Admit Card of NEET-UG
   • Result Letter issued by CBSE
   • Date of Birth Certificate or Class 10th certificate for date of birth
   • Class 12th certificates, and mark sheet
   • Eight passport size photographs same as enclosed in the application form.
