Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune was established in 1983 and is a constituent of Symbiosis International. It is an autonomous college but is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The degree is awarded in the name of the affiliated university. Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce is regarded as a "College with Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commission. It is awarded an 'A+' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC]. 

Symbiosis follows the interdisciplinary approach to studies. It offers specific skill development courses as well as many student exchange programs. Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce gives the benefit of belonging to both an internationally renowned institution and also to a multicultural, interdisciplinary, academic student community.

The Symbiosis College courses are provided in the majority of disciplines in the arts and commerce stream. Each course has its specific eligibility conditions which have to be satisfied by the applicant to be shortlisted.

Symbiosis B.Com:

The Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce offers specially modulated 3-year programs in Bachelor of Commerce. There are 7 subjects in the first year which cover all the aspects including general knowledge. It has subjects like General Awareness 1 and 2 which covers Business aspects as well as knowledge about the world. English is divided into two sections, one is Compulsory English and the other is Additional English. The other three courses at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce are Accountancy, Economics, and Mathematics or Computer. Physical Education Course is a compulsory subject in the second semester.

In the second year, students at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce have the option to opt for specialization in cost accounting, banking, and financial system, marketing management, or business entrepreneurship. For semester-3, Environment Awareness Course is a compulsory graded subject. The subjects for the third year are the same as in the second year.

Symbiosis BA:

Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce offers 3-year programs in Bachelor of Arts. The first-year course curriculum is extensive and compulsory for the students. For the second and third years, students have to choose specializations among Economics, English, and psychology. The subjects offered for the specialization are the same as in Pune University. Students opting for Psychology also require lab work and various other assignments such as lab testing and aptitude. Environment Awareness is again a compulsory graded subject for 3rd-semester students.

Symbiosis M.Com:

The Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce follows a Semester pattern of examination. Degree course M.Com with a two-year duration is split into 4 semesters. There are two compulsory subjects and two specialization subject group in each semester. The specialization subject group consists of two subjects. The specialization subject group consists of subjects Advanced Accounting and Taxation, and Business Administration. The course covers different disciplines like accounting, actuarial science, corporate governance, business management, human resource management, statistics, economics, finance, marketing, or supply chain management. This Post Graduate program offers the students a broad scope of economic and managerial skills. Students acquire practical skills to work as a tax consultant, audit assistant, and other financial supporting services.

Symbiosis MA:

The program duration is two years in which the specialization is introduced at MA part-2 level. There are a total of four semesters. Each year comprises two semesters. A student has to appear for four papers each semester which will include practicals, practicum, and a research project (research project is assigned purely on a merit basis). Specializations offered in Master of Arts are Psychology, English, and Economics at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce.

Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune offers post-graduation programs such as M.A. and M.Com. in various specializations. M.A offers specialization in Psychology, Economics, and English. To apply for PG in this college, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD, however, get 5% relaxation on qualification marks, i.e. they can apply if they have scored 45% in their graduation.
