Merit Scholarship: Students accepted into the university's various courses/programs are eligible for two merit scholarships awarded to the top two merit holders. Merit scholarships for a prior year paying students are provided based on merit in the course's entrance exam, and in the final year, merit in the M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com./ MLIS previous/ first and second semester examinations. The Kashmir University scholarship is valid for a maximum of 12 calendar months from admission to the course to the last date of the examination.
Students Aid: Kashmir University has also developed a policy known as the "Student Aid Fund," which provides financial assistance to students, particularly those who are meritorious and come from low-income families. The Kashmir University Alumni Association also gives financial assistance to students from low-income families, with orphaned children receiving priority.
Research Scholarship: In addition to a contingency grant provided annually for paying miscellaneous expenses, each Department/Research Centre awards four scholarships for conducting research leading to Ph.D./M.phil. Degrees.
