PSTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The Punjab School National Board has set a few guidelines for the applicants who want to write the PSTET. Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification, age limit, etc to write the PSTET exam. They are as below.
Education Qualification
Paper 1: 50% marks in 12th standard and a four-year Elementary Education Training. Candidates with graduation or diploma in elementary education may apply as well.
Paper 2: Candidate must be a graduate and also hold a B.Ed. degree.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for either of the papers.
Number of Attempts
There are no limits on the number of attempts that are made by the candidate. Candidates who want to improve their scores can also appear for the exam twice.

- Step 1: Visit the website official website of PSTET - www.pstet.net
- Step 2: On the homepage of the website, search for the link to apply online for the PSTET 2024 exam.
- Step 3: The candidate must have a valid email ID and a phone number to apply online for the exam.
- Step 4: The candidate must read all the instructions and declarations carefully before filling up the application form. Once the candidate has finished reading all the mentioned instructions, click on the checkbox and then "Click here to Proceed".
- Step 5: Candidates must provide all the mandatory personal details such as candidate's full name, parent's name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, category, permanent address, religion/caste and education details such as graduation degree details, year of passing, CGPA/Percentage secured etc.
- Step 6: Confirmation for the registration will be sent to the email ID and mobile number that the candidate has entered. Review the entire details entered by the candidate. Once finished, proceed to upload the documents
- Step 7: Candidates have to upload the latest passport size photograph and scanned copy of the signature in the prescribed specification. Once uploaded, proceed to make the payment.
- Step 8: Make the payment either through online or by submitting challan at Punjab National Bank. General/OBC applicants need to pay INR 600 as application form fee. SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates need to pay INR 300 only as application fee.
- Step 9: Once the payment is successful, candidates can download and take the printout of the completed PSTET 2024 application form and keep it for future reference.

About PSTET
Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test is a state-level exam conducted by the Punjab School National Board (PSEB) for all those candidates who wish to teach in a government or private school in Punjab, from classes 1 to 8. Paper 1 is for those applicants who wish to be teachers of the Primary School classes of 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for those applicants who wish to be teachers of the Upper Primary School classes of 6 to 8. The nature of the exam is qualifying. It helps in shortlisting candidates for further events which are related to the recruitment process. PSTET 2024 Exam Pattern

Papers and Types of Question: There will be 2 papers in PSTET 2024 exam. Paper 1 is for those candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes 1 to V (Primary Teacher) and fulfils the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Paper 2 is for the candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT- Trained Graduate Teacher) and fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria. - Child Development and Pedagogy- Focuses on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning which is relevant for the students age 6 to 11 years. Understanding the characteristics and Needs of Diverse Learning, interaction with students, and the attributes and qualities of a good teacher.
- Language 1 and 2- will be based on what the applicant opts for. Language 1 will focus on the medium of instruction that the teacher would use. Language 2 will be any other Language apart from Language 1 and this will focus on elements of language, communication, and comprehension skills.
- Mathematics and Environmental Studies- These will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
The Syllabus will be restricted to the topics of standard 1 to 5 of the State but the difficulty level and linkages can be of higher standards.
PSTET 2024 Syllabus Paper 2
- Child Development and Pedagogy- Focuses on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning which is relevant for students aged 11 to 14 years. Understanding the characteristics and Needs of Diverse Learning, interaction with students, and the attributes and qualities of a good teacher.
- Language 1 and 2- will be based on what the applicant opts for. Language 1 will focus on the medium of instruction that the teacher would use. Language 2 will be any other Language apart from Language 1 and this will focus on elements of language, communication, and comprehension skills.
- Mathematics and Science or Social Science- These will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, pedagogical understanding of the subjects. The test of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test topics will be evenly divided over different standards syllabus that the state government has decided for standard 6 to 8.
The Syllabus will be restricted to the topics of standard 1 to 5 of the State but the difficulty level and linkages can be of higher standards.
