The State government provides Uttarakhand scholarships to its domiciles from class I to the postdoctoral level. In addition, the government offers several schemes to the reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ EBC/ OBC/ PwD and minority communities. However, the state is committed to providing quality education to deserving students irrespective of their caste and economic background. Pre-Matric Uttarakhand Scholarships
The central and state sector provides pre-matric Uttarakhand scholarships for students domiciled in the state. The scholarship programmes are available to those between the classes I and X studying at a government recognised institution. The objective is to provide educational opportunities to students belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD and minority categories. Listed below are the pre-matric scholarships under the central and state sectors:

Before submitting their applications, candidates should clear the previous qualifying exams and meet the other Uttarakhand scholarship eligibility criteria. The selected students will receive up to INR 3,500 per annum. However, the Uttarakhand scholarship amount will vary based on each category and class level. The income limit of the eligible applicants should be as follows:
For SC and ST Categories
- Those between classes I and VIII have no income limit. However, the family income of those studying classes IX and X should not exceed INR 2,00,000 per annum.
For OBC Category
- The annual family income of the students belonging to the OBC category should not exceed INR 44,500.
For Disabled Students
- The annual family income of the PwD category should not be more than INR 24,000 from all sources.
For Minorities
- The annual family income of the minorities should not exceed twice the income slab of the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category.
Uttarakhand Scholarship 2023 Last Date for Pre-Matric State Sector Programme
The last date to submit applications for minorities has not been updated yet. At the same time, the SC/ ST/ OBC and PwD students can also submit their applications has not been updated yet.
Post-Matric Uttarakhand Scholarships
Students permanently residing in Uttarakhand and studying class XI to those pursuing a postdoctoral degree can avail benefits of the post-matric Uttarakhand scholarships. The government provides post-matric scholarships to the SC/ ST/ OBC and EBC categories. They should be pursuing an eligible course and have cleared the previous qualifying exam from a recognised university, college or institution. The post-matric Uttarakhand scholarship also applies to candidates pursuing ITI, polytechnic diploma, CA, ICWA, CS, etc. The annual family income of the OBC/ EBC categories should be below INR 1,00,000 per annum, and the SC/ST categories should not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum. The selected candidates will receive up to INR 1,200 per month. However, the Uttarakhand scholarship amount will differ according to the class levels and categories.

How to Apply for the Uttarakhand Scholarships?
The Department of Social Welfare under the state government provides all the Uttarakhand online scholarships. The candidates can apply for the desired scholarship schemes by filling up the Uttarakhand scholarship online form 2023 through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). However, they should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying to their desired scholarship. After meeting the requirements, the candidates should complete the Uttarakhand scholarship registration process on the NSP portal. Next, they should log into the portal with the Uttarakhand scholarship login credentials, which they obtain after registration. In addition to filling the application form, the candidates should also upload valid documents and submit them online within the deadline.
