Institute of Engineering and Technology, otherwise known as the "Engineering College" in Lucknow, is one among the top-ranked institutes among all institutions that are affiliated to Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), with NBA accreditation in Lucknow. Students are admitted for undergraduate and postgraduate programs through UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) on a rank basis. Among the UPSEE counselling, the Institute of Engineering and Technology is the most preferred institution.
2. Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology
Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology is another leading technical institution of the Awadh region, Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, responsible for producing skilled top-grade engineers. It also does consultancy services to various other agencies. The Institute is an autonomous college affiliated with Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The college offers programs in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels in engineering and computer applications. For BTech, the students should write the UPSEE, while for postgraduate courses, students have to qualify for the GATE examination. The Institute also maintains a health centre, providing primary health care facilities to its students and staff. It functions with a full-time medical officer and pharmacists.
3. Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhansi
Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jhansi consistently attracts the finest faculty. BIET offers the students challenging research-oriented academics and various sports, cultural and organizational activities on the campus. 4. Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped
Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped (AITH) is an autonomous institute offering technical education to students. AITH offers undergraduate B.Tech/BE and Diploma courses. The Undergraduate program is open for both normal and disabled, and the diploma level course is only physically disabled. To secure admission, the students should write JEE main/UPSEE entrance examinations. AITH is affiliated with the Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow, which is approved by AICTE. AITH was awarded as Asia's first college to provide technical education to physically challenged students.
5. Rajkiya Engineering College, Bijnor
Rajkiya Engineering College Bijnor was started to promote technical education for the socially and economically weaker section of the society. The All India Council has approved REC B for Technical Education (AICTE). REC Bijnor is affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow and has proposed the Government for AICTE approval to function as a fully autonomous college.
6. Rajkiya Engineering College Banda
Rajkiya Engineering College (REC) Banda offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering. It is affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University and it is approved by the AICTE, accredited by the NBA - National Board of Accreditation. The admission criteria are based on the UPSEE examination.

7. Rajkiya Engineering College, Kannauj

10. Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi
The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT), was set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The main aim of the institution is to provide much-needed support to Textile, Carpet, and allied Industries. IICT is affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU) with the approval of AICTE. IICT offers B. Tech in Carpet technology and short-term/ diploma courses in textile engineering. The eligibility is based on the entrance conducted by UPSEE/ JEE main.
11. Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur
The Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) in Gorakhpur is one of India's top technical colleges. In 1962, the Government of Uttar Pradesh reconstituted Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College (MMMEC Gorakhpur) as a non-affiliated teaching and research university.
12. Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute, Kanpur
Kanpur's Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (formerly the Government Central Textile Institute) ranks among the top textile institutions in North India. This institute was established in 1914 and has steadily grown since then. In 1937, however, a new textile college was built by combining two premier textile institutes, one in Kanpur and another in Roorkee, through the Department of Textile Technology of Thomson Civil Engineering College of Roorkee, as well as two diploma programs.

13. Faculty of Architecture AKTU, Lucknow
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow has a faculty called the Faculty of Architecture and Planning. The site covers six acres and is located within walking distance of Hazratganj. As one of the oldest art and crafts colleges, it was originally part of the Government College of Arts & Crafts in 1911.
14. Institute of Cooperative & Corporates Management Research & Training Lucknow
In 1978, the government of Uttar Pradesh and apex cooperative organizations established the Institute of Cooperative & Corporate Management Research & Training Lucknow (ICCMRT). Having begun as a small organization, it has now become one of the top management institutes among its clients and academic field. The ICCMRT began conducting postgraduate diploma programs in business management and computer science in the early 90s. Since 1997, the institute has offered a two-year full-time AICTE approved PGDBA program, now approved as an MBA program, affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, since 2001.
15. Indira Gandhi Institute of Cooperative Management, Lucknow
The Institute for Cooperative Management, one of the foremost cooperative education institutions in the country, was established in 1993. Nineteen cooperative training institutes are running throughout the country under the administrative control of the National Council for Cooperative Training. Accredited by AICTE and affiliated with UPTU, the program now goes by the name of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, started in 2004.

16. National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Gorakhpur
DOEACC's predecessor, the Gorakhpur Centre of NIELIT, was established as CEDTI, the Department for Electronics Design and Technology of India, in June 1989. A hostel for 70 students is included in the centre, which has a total surface area of 3450 square meters. The NIELIT Government of India now administers NIELIT.
17. Remote Sensing Application Centre, Lucknow
The government of Uttar Pradesh established the Remote Sensing Applications Centre, Uttar Pradesh, in 1982 as an autonomous organization. The company has been registered as a society since that time. Remote sensing - a newly emerging technology - was employed in the registration act, 1960 to manage all-natural resources.
18. Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri
A government-sponsored academic institute created in 2015 by the government of Uttar Pradesh, Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri (RECM), offers a single branch of Civil Engineering to 63 students on the campus of Harcourt Butler Technological University, Kanpur (used to be HBTU, Kanpur). As of April 1, 2013, the college is associated with Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

19. Rajkiya Engineering College, Sonbhadra
The Government of Uttar Pradesh undertook a government initiative in 2015 to establish Rajkiya Engineering College in Sonbhadra. The College has moved to a fully residential campus at Churk, Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, starting with the 2017-18 academic year. All academic activities will be run from this campus. Among its amenities are two academic buildings, a workshop, hostels for boys and girls, a student activity centre, a cafeteria, a grocery store, 24-hour power, water, and other recreational facilities.
20. U.P Institute of Design, Noida
UP Institute of Design, Noida, offers the Bachelor of Design degree, which was established by Lucknow's A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University at its Noida campus. In the academic session 2021-22, there was 30 students enrolled in the program, 15 in the Master of Design program.
21. Centre for Advanced Studies, Lucknow
Among the state's engineering research and education institutions, the Lucknow Technical University system looks up to the Centre for Advanced Studies. Currently, India has invested heavily in research establishments in the fields of nuclear, defence, space, oceanic and environmental research. A Center for Advanced Studies at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University will serve as an academic and research institution on campus. The institute began operating in July 2017.

AKTU Government Colleges Admission Entrance Examination
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University decides the cut-off for the entrance exam by factors such as the number of students appearing for the exam and the difficulty level of the examination. The following are the entrance exams considered for admission to AKTU.
- JEE Advanced
- JEE Main
- UPSEE
The next step for candidates who manage to clear the above-mentioned qualifying examinations is counseling. Aspirants who score well and have the requisite rank will be invited for the counseling procedure and can gain admission through it.
AKTU Government College Eligibility Criteria
For admission to an undergraduate course in AKTU government colleges, aspirants must fulfil the basic requirements for eligibility as underlined in the college admission guidelines by the university.
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 examinations with science and maths from a recognized board.
- Candidates should clear the pan-India technological and engineering entrance exam, the Joint Entrance Examination both Mains and Advanced, with a minimum cutoff.
- Candidates can also appear for other popular engineering entrance examinations such as the state-level UPSEE exam.
