Delhi University Admission Process
Delhi University admits students for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate degrees. Admission to undergraduate courses is dependent on the CUET UG exam, which is administered under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).
CUET PG exam is used to admit students to postgraduate programs. Candidates for Ph.D. admission are shortlisted based on their performance in the entrance exam and personal interview.
To secure admission to the top 10 women colleges in Delhi University, students must meet the eligibility criteria apart from the entrance exam. The general steps of the admission process have been outlined below.
Step 1: Register and take the CUET UG/PG exam.
Eligible candidates must register on the official website and take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG/ PG), which is administered by the NTA. Students need to note that while filling out the CUET form they must opt for Delhi University as their preferred college.
Step 2: Register on the DU CSAS Portal
All candidates seeking admission to colleges under Delhi University must register themselves on the CSAS portal by filling out the required details and paying the one-time application fees. For UR/OBC-NCL/EWS the fee is INR 250 and for SC/ST/PwBD it is INR 100.
Step 3: Declaration of CUET result and release of Merit lists
Following that, the CUET result is released, which includes the candidate's entrance exam score and qualifying status. The CUET merit list is generated based on the candidates' performance in the admission exam and the university provides the CUET cutoff.
Step 4: Selection of program and filling of college preference
Candidates must submit their desired courses and colleges in order of preference on the CSAS portal. DU will then release the seat allocation for all categories. Candidates must select the ‘freeze’ option to lock in their choices if they are satisfied with their choice. After this, they will not be allowed for upgradation.
Step 5: Verification of Documents and Payment of Fees
After the candidates accept the provisionally allocated seats, they have to submit all the necessary documents for verification. Once the authorities approve the admission, candidates are required to pay the DU admission fees to confirm their seat.
