Placements & Internships :
I have done my internship from Kalyani Government Engineering College on the topic, Recent trends in opportunistic Networks which is funded by ITRA media lab, Asia.
The companies that came for placement this year includes, Oracle, Wipro, IGate, Tech Mahindra etc.
Average salary package is around Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum. The highest package surged this year to a staggering figure of Rs 5.5 lakh per annum.
My college has a good alumni network as its establishment dates back to year 1920.
Academics & Faculty :
The quality of teaching is good as far as the demonstration of the theoretical concepts are concerned but when it comes to the implementation part (practicals) the entire teaching methodology is very well structured. The students get enough freedom to choose their own topics for the final year project, which not only enhances the interest quotient and the involvement of the students but also results in sound growth prospects. The exams clearly reflects the knowledge content of the students and provide ample opportunities to the students to introspect themselves before appearing for the semester exams. I have had a enriching and pragmatic experience in my 3.5 years of my B.Tech course, where i came across a myriad of new concepts.
Fees & Scholarships :
The course fee for I.T is Rs 24,000 per annum.
Since, my college started its functioning as a textile college, most of the scholarships are awarded to the students who pursue B.Tech in Textile Technology.
The scholarship is awarded to 6-8 students.
The students can get loan from the nearby banks which include SBI, IDBI etc.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
There is one Boys Hostel in the college campus. The accommodation facility is decent around the college area.
PG's and mess are a convenient option.
The cost of the meal is around Rs 20-30 in the hostel, although the quality of food fails to match the desired standards.
The overall infrastructure of library, classrooms etc is at par.
