Poona College of Arts, Science, and Commerce was established by Anjuman Khairul Islam [A.K.I.] in 1970 and affiliated under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education [MSBSHSE] of Government of Maharashtra. ADYPU was established with the aim of educating students and preparing them to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing and complex world. 

Poona College of Arts, Science, and Commerce admission can be done online on the official website of the university. Admissions are done based on merit. The college offers various courses like  Electronics, Computer Science, Organic Chemistry, Zoology, English, Economics, Urdu and Commerce, Ph.D. and many more.

The College is also planning to have research centers in Urdu and English very shortly. The Poorna college was the first to select by University Grants Commission, New Delhi for the introduction of the Computer Maintenance course at the degree level as a part of the UGC program “Vocationalization of First Degree Education” from the academic year 1994 -95.

The Poorna College strength has reached around 6500students, of which 3500 are in the Senior College. Top-class faculty members and modern infrastructural facilities are available in this institute.
