CMAT Exam Analysis 2023
CMAT 2023 exam was conducted on May 4, 2023, in two different shifts. Shift 1 was conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM, while shift 2 is set to be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The exam is held for 3 hours (180 minutes). Candidates will have to answer 100 questions from 5 sections.

CMAT 2022 Exam Paper Analysis
Candidates were allotted 180 minutes to solve all the questions. The candidates were tested in aptitude and knowledge in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. The new change in CMAT 2023 is the mandatory Innovation and Entrepreneurship section, unlike last year when it was an optional section. Nonetheless, the quantitative techniques and data interpretation questions were more difficult than last year.
Each section comprised 20 multiple-choice questions. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. In case a question is not attempted, no marks will be given.

CMAT 2020 Exam Paper Analysis
The candidates were given 180 minutes to solve all the questions. The question paper tested the candidate's aptitude and knowledge in Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. Each section comprised 25 multiple-choice questions.
Out of the four domains named above, the Quants section was found to be the trickiest by the candidates, and Logical Reasoning was the simplest. The overall difficulty level of the question paper ranged from moderate to difficult.

CMAT Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Analysis
- This section of CMAT comprised 25 questions covering the basic quantitative aptitude syllabus.
- The difficulty of the section was between moderate and difficult, mostly leaning towards the difficult side.
- There were a higher number of questions from the arithmetic topics of the syllabus.
- Ratio, Proportion, Interest, Time, and Work had a few questions in this paper.
- Data Interpretation had one set of 4 questions instead of the usual pattern of having individual questions.
- As stated, this section was reported to be a little tricky.
CMAT Logical Reasoning Analysis
- The logical reasoning section in CMAT 2020 was said to be the easiest of the lot.
- This section contained 7 verbal questions.
- There were 4 questions from Blood Relations in CMAT 2020 question paper.
- Many other questions were individual and not in a set, as compared to previous papers.
- Other topics covered in the questions in this paper were Coding-Decoding, Relations, Series, Visual Reasoning, Analogy, Directions, Symbol Based Logic, Number Grid, etc.
CMAT Language Comprehension Analysis
- The language comprehension section of CMAT 2020 was of a moderate level of difficulty.
- There was one reading comprehension that was followed by 6 questions.
- The other questions were mostly based on verbal ability.
- These included questions from topics such as antonyms, the odd one out, grammar-based questions, and jumbled paragraphs.
- Some questions were one-word substitution-based.
CMAT General Awareness
- The general awareness section of this paper was reported to be of a moderate level of difficulty.
- This paper had a lot of questions that were based on static general knowledge.
- There were 11 questions on Indian Events, 9 questions about International Events, and 5 questions about Miscellaneous Events.

CMAT 2019 Exam Paper Analysis
CMAT 2019 was conducted in two sessions, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM & 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The question difficulty was of moderate level, and candidates good at the selection and rejecting options did well in the exam.
CMAT Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Analysis
Most of the questions present in this section were based on conventional areas. This section had a moderate difficulty level. There were two data interpretation questions; three from speed, time, and distance, and two from algebra. Permutation and Combination topics contributed to four questions. Being able to attempt 21-23 questions led to a good rank in the exam.
CMAT Logical Reasoning Analysis
This section was having a difficulty range of easy to moderate. There were three questions from Verbal Reasoning, two from Analogy, and one from Analytical Reasoning. The questions were also from topics such as coding/decoding, number sequences, and blood relations. Being about to attempt 20-22 questions could be considered a good attempt.
CMAT Language Comprehension Analysis
There were a total of four passages in this section. Three of these were short passages with 3 questions each, which were about Endangered Languages (Greek and Latin), the World Trade Organization, responsible for deciding the status of the developing countries. There was another long passage on the topic - Parenting and Culture-related value system. They were all composed of factual questions with one inference question. These were relatively easy. The overall the difficulty level was moderate to difficult.
CMAT General Awareness
This section of General Awareness had around 8 questions about current affairs. If the candidate has a habit of reading newspapers and a good knowledge of what's going on in the world, he/she could have attempted around 6 questions with ease. Most questions were from Static GK, based on Awards, Science, Politics, etc. 18 out of 20 would be considered a good score considering the level of questions.
