TS ECET Eligibility Criteria 2024 Highlights
TS ECET eligibility criteria 2024 are divided into three sections - Educational, Nationality, and Domicile. All aspiring candidates will have to satisfy all the requirements set by the conducting authorities. Therefore, before applying for the exam, it is advised to have a fair understanding of the eligibility criteria.
- Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Domicile Status: Candidate should belong to the State of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh. Candidates should satisfy local/ non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974, as subsequently amended.
TS ECET Eligibility Criteria Education Qualification
The detailed information on TS ECET eligibility criteria 2024 can be found below.
- Candidate must have passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana State / Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh as equivalent to that for admission into the relevant BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharmacy courses.
- Candidates should have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics as a major subject from a recognized University in the Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh state or its equivalent.
- Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course under the sandwich pattern shall be eligible for entry into the relevant BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training for the sandwich course before the close of counselling for entry into the relevant course.
- To meet the TS ECET qualifying marks, candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates).
Note: Admission to 85% of the seats in each course will be allocated for the local candidates, and the remaining 15% seats will be unreserved as specified.
TS ECET Eligibility Criteria 2024 For FDH & B.Sc. Mathematics
Candidates should satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for appearing at the TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2024 for lateral entry admission through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year regular B.E./ B.Tech courses approved by All India Council for Technical Education for both University and Un-aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non- Minority) and for lateral entry admission through Common Entrance Test into 2nd-year Regular B.Pharmacy Courses in both University and Private Un-Aided Professional institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
- They should be of Indian Nationality.
- They should belong to the State of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974, as subsequently amended. The same is adapted to the State of Telangana vide G.O. Ms. No. 33 dated 31.12.2014.
- They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana State / Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh as equivalent there to for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy courses as given in the Annexure.
OR
- They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc. Degree Examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana / Andhra Pradesh state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses.
Note: Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in the academic year 2024-2024 are also eligible. They have to submit the qualifying certificate with the required percentage of marks at the time of admission.
- Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course under sandwich pattern shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E / B.Tech. / B.Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training for the sandwich course before completion of counseling for Admissions.
- Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy or B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.
- In addition, candidates should have appeared and qualified at the TS ECET - 2024. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirements of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission. Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974, as subsequently amended.
TS ECET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Local and Non-Local Candidates
Candidates for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to the following criteria.
- If they have studied in educational Institutions or educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination,
OR
- Where, during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, they have not studied in any educational institutions, if they have resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which they appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared.
A candidate for admission into the course who is not regarded as local candidate under Clause (A) in relation to any local area are,
If they have studied in educational institutions in the state for a period of not less than seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination be regarded as a local candidate in relation to,
- Such local area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of said period of seven years, or
- Where the period of his/her study in two or more local areas are equal, such local area, where he/she has studied last in such equal period,
OR
If, during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, they have not studied in the educational Institutions in any local area, but has resided in the State during the whole of the said period of seven years, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to,
- Such local area where they have resided for the maximum period out of the said period of seven years,
OR
- Where the periods of his/her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she has resided last in such equal periods.
The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining15% of un-reserved seats.
- All the candidates eligible to be declared as local candidates.
- Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of 10 years excluding periods of study outside the State or either of whose parents have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding period of employment outside the State.
- Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, and other similar quasi-public Institutions, within the state.
- Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and educational institutions recognized by the Government or University OR other competent authority and similar quasi Government Institutions within the State.
TS ECET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Admission into B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Pharm
TS ECET eligibility criteria 2024 is given below for lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech Courses in both University and Un-Aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by All India Council for Technical Education, and for lateral admission into 2nd year regular B. Pharmacy Course in both University and private Un- Aided professional institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
- Candidates should have appeared and qualified the TS ECET 2024.
