NEET SS 2024 Exam: A Step-by-Step Guide to the Application Procedure

NEET SS 2024 Exam: The NEET SS 2024 application form is likely to be released by the exam's governing body, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), in the fourth week of December 2024. The deadline for the NEET SS 2024 application procedure is expected to be in the second week of January 2025. The National Board of Examination Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced that exam will be conducted from Mar 29- Mar 30, 2025.

To complete the NEET SS application form 2024, follow these five steps: register, fill out the form, upload scanned documents, pay the fees, and print the confirmation page. These steps have been explained in detail in this article.

NEET SS will be a computer-based test for admission to DM/MCh courses at 156 private/government medical colleges, universities, deemed universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) institutes.

NEET SS 2024 Exam

NEET SS (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality Courses) is an exam organized by the National Board of Education. It is required for admission to DM, MCh, and DNB super speciality medical courses. This exam serves both as a qualifying test and a ranking test for these programs. Under the Indian Medical Council Act of 2016, no other entrance exam is accepted for these courses. NEET SS is held once a year in a computer-based format over two days, with two exam slots each day.

NEET SS 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the NEET SS 2024 application form, candidates must make sure they meet the NBE's eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for this year will be provided alongside the NEET SS 2024 notice and information brochure. The eligibility criteria for NEET SS 2024 are projected to remain the same as last year. These are as given below-

• The candidate must have a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB/equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Candidates must finish their postgraduate degree on or before September 30, 2024.
• Candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council.

NEET SS 2024 Exam Application Process

The NEET SS 2024 application form can be filled out in four steps: registration, application form completion, image upload, and application fee submission. All of these actions have been explained below.

Step 1: Registration

Candidates must first visit the official website of nbe.edu.in and select "NEET-SS". Click "New Registration" in the links area. To finish the signup process, enter- name, date of birth, gender, nationality, mobile number, and email ID. Submit the NEET SS registration form.

A confirmation message containing the username and password will be sent to the registered email address and mobile number.

Step 2: Fill out the application form

To access the NEET SS 2024 application form, log in with the credentials issued to the registered email address and mobile number. Now, click on "Go to application form". Most of the information in this part will be pre-filled from the registration form.

Enter your mother's name, father's name, and disability (if applicable). Along with identification and contact information. Then enter your  UG and PG qualification details, as well as the SMC/MCI registration details. Finally, choose your preferred test center.

Step 3: Upload the Images

Upload scanned copies of the photograph, signature, and thumb impression into the space provided. 

Step 4: Submit the application fee

The application fees need to be paid online. The candidate can pay the fee using a credit card, a debit card, or net banking. The NEET SS 2024 application price is expected to be INR 4,250, regardless of the candidate's category, based on the previous year's charge.

Candidates must keep the following list of documents prepared according to the specifications for filling out the NEET SS 2024 exam application form.

1. A scanned copy of a passport-sized photograph

Specifications for photograph-

• Passport-sized
• Coloured photograph with white background
• Dimensions- 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
• Format- .jpg/.jpeg/.image
• Maximum file size- 80 kb
• Resolution-  200 dpi

2. A scanned copy of the candidate’s signature

Specifications for signature-

• Must be in blue/ black pen only 
• On a white background
• Dimensions- 6 cm x 3 cm
• Format- .jpg/.jpeg/.image
• Maximum file size- 80 kb
• Resolution-  200 dpi

3. A Scanned copy of the candidate’s left-hand thumb impression

Specifications for thumb impression-

• Clear impression of the candidate’s left thumb
• Coloured impression with a white background
• Dimensions- 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
• Format- .jpg/.jpeg/.image
• Maximum file size- 80 kb
• Resolution- 200 dpi

NEET SS 2024 Exam Correction Window

NBE will only deliver the NEET SS 2024 correction window to enrolled applicants. It should be emphasized that the NEET SS edit window can only be used twice and for distinct purposes. In the first edit box, candidates can change the information they submitted to the application form. However, they will be unable to modify their name, email address, nationality, or test city.

The second edit window for NEET SS 2024 will be opened, allowing registered applicants to amend their photograph, signature, or thumb imprint. To avoid future problems, applicants must properly fill out the NEET SS application form 2024.
