What is GCET?

The full form fo GCET is Goa Common Entrance Test. GCET is a state-level entrance examination test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) under the regulation of the Government of Goa. DTE invites candidates of Goa state for admission to the first year of professional degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy, Architecture courses through NATA, and admissions to MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), Allied Health Sciences, BAMS (Ayurveda) and Nursing courses will be based on NEET-UG.

  • Authority: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa, has complete rights for conducting GCET/Goa CET and decides the admissions and allotment of seats for various courses in different colleges.

  • Level: Goa CET 2021 or GCET 2021 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the government of Goa for pursuing degree courses like Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, etc.

Applicants who wish to pursue any of the courses mentioned above in the state of Goa have to appear for the GCET Exam, after which they can take admission into these courses. Applicants can apply to the GCET 2021 by visiting the official website of the GCET Exam and registering for the same. After the GCET Results are declared candidates will be given admission into these courses accordingly.

  • Schedule: The schedule of Goa Common Entrance Test 2021 has been announced on the official website of the DTE. The GCET 2021 exam is going to take place on May 4, 2021 and May 5, 2021.

  • Note: For admission in BE and B.Pharm courses in institutes in Goa state, the candidates are required to appear for Goa Common Entrance Test 2021.

GCET 2021 Important Dates

Application Form for GCET will be available on the official website of the DTE i.e. dte.Goa.gov.in from Feb 26, 2021 to Mar 29, 2021. Candidates have to submit their Application Form in the given location (Directorate of Technical Education & Ravindra Bhavan).

At the time of submitting GCET Application Form, candidates have to collect the GCET 2021 Admit Card from the concerned official. He/she has to submit the application within the submission date.

GCET/ Goa CET 2021 will be conducted through offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PPT) in June month [Physics (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Chemistry (02:00 PM to 04:00 PM)]. The exam for Mathematics subject will take place in June month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

  • Results: Result will be declared on the official website.

  • Counselling: The DTE will invite those students who have cleared the cutoff for the counselling process. Here the candidate can choose college and course for admission.

GCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to check the basic eligibility criteria for GCET 2021. He/she must ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria to appear in the GCET exam before filling up the application form. The basic GCET eligibility criteria 2021 are as under:

  • He/she should have Physics, Mathematics, and English as the compulsory subjects and one of the subjects in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Computer Science.
  • Candidates should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Applicants should have scored at least 45% marks aggregate (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
  • There is no age limit prescribed.
B. Arch.
  • Candidates must qualify for the NATA exam.
  • Applicant must have passed 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics subject.
  • He/she should have scored a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • There is no age limit for this course.
  • Candidates should have completed 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.
  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry & Biology subject.
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
B. Sc. Nursing
  • He/she should have got at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Candidates passed in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subject.
B. Pharma.
  • 12th or equivalent exam passed with Physics, Chemistry, and English as the compulsory subjects.
  • Apart from the above subjects, candidates should have an additional subject in Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer Science.
  • There is no age limit.
  • Age: The candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.

  • Qualification: Candidates should have qualified the 10+2 mode of education from any of the government recognized state boards or any other equivalent boards with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as the main subjects to appear in GCET 2021.

  • Citizenship: The candidate should be an Indian citizen in order to qualify for the GCET 2021. Non-resident Indians or NRI with a valid passport can also apply under-seat reservations for the NRI category.

GCET 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus for GCET 2021 will be based on the prospectus recommended by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim. Standard twelfth (Science) subjects, for example, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be incorporated into the syllabus. The official specialist will likewise furnish the total Syllabus of GCET alongside the information pamphlet.

  • BE: The syllabus for B.E includes the topic from Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry of Class XI and Class XII prescribed by the State Government of Goa.

  • B.Arch: The syllabus for B.Arch will be prescribed by the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and the students can follow the NATA Board for regular updates.

  • Medical: The syllabus for Medical courses will be from the Science (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology) from Class XI and Class XII prescribed by the State Government of Goa.

  • Books: Candidates can refer to the books which are prescribed by the conducting authority and the toppers.

GCET 2021 Exam Pattern

Goa CET 2021 will be conducted through offline mode i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PPT). The question paper will contain 225 Multiple Choice Question's (MCQ's) for a duration of 2 Hours i.e. 120 Minutes.

  • Marking Scheme: +1 marks are awarded for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for incorrect and unanswered questions.
  • Medium: The GCET 2021 Exam Question Paper will comprise of questions in the English language only.

GCET 2021 Application Form

Aspirants are advised to fill the application form carefully within the stipulated time period. Go through the application details given below to fill the application form.

  • GCET Application Form will be available on the official website i.e. dte.goa.gov.in from Feb 26, 2021. The last date to submit the GCET 2021 Application Form is on Mar 29, 2021.
  • GCET Application Forms:
    • Form A: For admission into Engineering & Pharmacy Courses.
    • Form B: For admission into NEET based professional degree courses in MBBS/ BDS/ AHS/ BHMS/ BAMS/ Nursing.
    • Form C: For admission into Architecture [B.Arch] degree course based on NATA.
  • GCET Registration Fee: There is no option to pay GCET 2021 Application Fee through the online method. Candidate has to pay the registration fee only by Demand Draft of INR 2000 payable at Panaji, in the favor of “Director of Technical Education” drawn on any Scheduled Bank, or any other approved form of remittance, as may be duly notified (currently candidate should pay in HDFC Bank).

How to fill GCET 2021 Application Form

  • Download the GCET 2021 Application Form from official website
  • Fill all the required details
  • Paste your recently taken passport size photograph
  • Enclose two Application form in addition
  • Enter the complete postal address and contact details with zip code
  • Choose the GCET 2021 Exam Centre by filling centre code
  • Enter DD number, name of the bank, and date of issuance of DD.
  • Signature of candidate and signature of parents/guardian are required

GCET Candidates are suggested to take the print of fee receipt for future reference. 

GCET 2021 Exam Centres

GCET 2021 will be held at given Test Centres in the state of Goa. The code for preferred centres should be correctly entered on the application form. Any request for a change in choice of papers and/or centre selected/allotted will not be entertained after the issue of the Admit Card.

  • GCET Centre: GCET/ Goa CET 2021 will be conducted across 15 centres in Goa.
  • Choice: Candidates have to choose the GCET exam centre 2021 while filling the Application Form from the available alternatives.
  • Cancellation: The conducting authority has the right to cancel or change the Exam Centre if necessary. The candidate has no authority to question the DTE.
  • Note: The candidate must be present one hour before at the GCET 2021 exam Centre for verification. If the candidate is not able to appear for the exam in time, then he/she won't be allowed to write the examination. The candidate will have to carry the admit card along with anyone Government Photo ID to the exam centre on the day of the examination.

GCET 2021 Admit Card

The hopefuls who will effectively present their GCET 2021 application form alongside the application charges can get their admit card. GCET admit card will be issued to the candidates after submission of the application structure. The elements, for example, roll no, test date, time and it will be mentioned on the admit card. It will be obligatory for each contender to submit the admit card during the test.

The admit card for GCET/ Goa CET will be declared by the authority online on Apr 19, 2021. The admit card contains the details such as Name of Candidate, Roll Number, Date of Birth, Photograph, Signature, Examination Date, Exam Time, Exam Venue. Candidates won't be allowed to appear for the examination without their admit card.

No Postal: The admission committee will not send GCET 2021 admit card to any candidate individually by post.

Steps to download GCET Admit Card

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of DTE Goa 
  • Step 2: Find the GCET 2021 Link, or go to the GCET Admission Section
  • Step 3: Download Admit Card link will appear, click on it.
  • Step 4: You will be redirected to a login page, fill all the necessary details, and click on submit.
  • Step 5: Your GCET 2021 Admit Card will appear on the scree, review it, and click on print/download.

Important Note: Inform DTE Goa, immediately, in case of any mistake/discrepancy in the GCET Admit Card, make sure to tally the details with the application form. Send the image of the Admit Card with mention of the correction required.

GCET 2021 Results

The GCET Result will be available from Jul 10, 2021 (tentatively) on the official website which will be declared by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa. The Provisional merit list of GCET 2021 will consist of the ranks secured by the candidates along with their 12th standard and GCET 2021 scores.

How to check GCET 2021 Results?

You can check the GCET Results by going to the official website and logging in with credentials. Then click on the results tab to check individual results. Take a print of the same. Also, you can download the GCET Merit List prepared by the exam board itself. This list will be curated on the basis of all the admission considerations such as community/tie-breaker marks if needed. This list will be available on the notification section of the GCET website, hence easy to download. This list will give you a perspective in understanding your chances of getting your desired college from GCET.

Tie Break: Situations where two or more candidates securing the same aggregate marks may arise during the preparation of GCET 2021 merit list, the authorities will use the following methods as per the listed order:

  • Candidate with more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher.
  • If there is a tie in Mathematics score, then the candidate who has scored more in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie is still not broken, then the candidate with higher aggregate marks of Physics and Mathematics in the 12th standard will be ranked higher. If the tie still persists, then those candidates who have scored higher in Mathematics (12th standard) will be placed higher in the rank list.
  • Finally, if the tie is still not broken, then the candidate who is older in age will be given preference.

GCET 2021 Cut Off

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa will determine the minimum scores obtained by the candidates to be considered for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses at the universities and colleges in Goa. The GCET Cutoff will be based on the following factors:

  1. Number of candidates appearing for GCET
  2. The difficulty level of GCET 2021 Paper
  3. Number of Seats available
  4. Cutoff may also be sectional wise

GCET 2021 Counselling

After the announcement of the result, the candidates need to fill the admission form, for example, Form A or Form B or Form C according to the ideal course. After the submission of the admission structure, the shortlisted applicants' list will be discharged. The hopefuls whose name is there in the merit list will be called for the first round. The hopefuls need to enter their preferred college and course at the time of Counselling. The confirmation will be affirmed after the verification of documents. After the successful allotment of college/seats, candidates will be required to submit the fee against the admission process and the first semester, within due time. Failing to do so will result in the voiding of seat allotment, and the seat will become open for the next round/candidate.  

  • GCET 2021 Counselling Date: The counselling dates of GCET/ Goa CET 2021 are yet to be declared.

  • Application Form for Admission:

    • Form A: For admission into Engineering & Pharmacy Courses.
    • Form B: For admission into NEET based professional degree courses in MBBS/ BDS/ AHS/ BHMS/ BAMS/ Nursing.
    • Form C: For admission into Architecture [B.Arch] degree course based on NATA.

GCET 2021 Counselling Procedure:

  • Step 1: Candidates have to fill the above-mentioned admission application form based on the course opted.
  • Step 2: Completed forms have to be submitted in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim.
  • Step 3: After submission, the candidate will be issued an acknowledgement card which has to be produced at the time of counselling.
  • Step 4: There will be three rounds of Goa CET Counselling, but an additional round may be held in case there are vacant seats left.
  • Step 5: Only those candidates who are listed on the merit list of GCET will be allowed to participate in GCET 2021 counselling.

When can I get the application form for GCET 2020?

GCET application form will be available online at the official website www.dteGoa.gov.in from April 1, 2020. The form has to be downloaded from the online prospectus of GCET 2020.

Is the GCET Application form available online?

Yes, the application form is available online. Candidates who are interested can go to the official website of the GCET Exam and apply for the same.

Which documents candidate needs to send along with the Application Form?

Along with the GCET application form, the candidates need to send self-attested copies of the following documents: 3 passport size photographs, where the photograph should be a recent one. Copy of Class 12 passing certificate. Copy of SSCE passing certificate. Demand Draft for the application fee.

What is the validity of GCET Goa Scores?

GCET score is valid only for one year (till the admission process closes). If a candidate wants to take admission next year, then he or she will have to appear for the GCET Exam again.

I am a Diploma holder, can I apply for GCET?

Yes, Candidates who have completed 10+3 (diploma) with at least 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for GCET.

I am from another state, can I apply for GCET Goa?

Yes. Candidates who are not from the state of Goa can also apply for the GCET Exam. Since the admission to these courses in the State of Goa is open for all Indian nationals.
