GCET eligibility criteria 2023 are set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa. All the candidates must thoroughly check their eligibility for GCET before applying to the GCET exam 2023. The Directorate of Technical Education conducts the Goa Common Entrance Test for students of Goa.

If the candidate can satisfy GCET 2023 eligibility criteria, they can apply for GCET 2023, which offers admission to the first year for different professional degree courses. GCET Eligibility Criteria 2023 Highlights

Candidates must meet specific standards and requirements in order to be considered for admission to one of the state's participating institutes. GCET 2023 eligibility will be based on the parameters mentioned below. Candidates will be disqualified from the admission process if they are determined to be ineligible.

Nationality Candidates must be a citizen of India. The candidate should have to carry the citizenship of India. If the candidate cannot show proof of Indian citizen, then DTE will reject the GCET application form.
Age
  • There is no age limitation for candidates applying for any of the Engineering or Architectural courses under GPCET 2023.
  • An applicant to degree courses in medical courses like Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences, and Nursing must have completed the age of 17 by 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible admission to the first year.
Domicile
  • Applicants who do not have the Domicile or the citizenship certificate (NRI/ OCI/ PIO) will not be allowed to apply for the GCET/ GOA CET 2023.
  •  Without NRI, OCI, and PIO categorized, the Candidate should be a permanent resident of Goa state. The candidate must have lived in the state for 10 years.
  • While submitting the CGET Application form authorized person of DTE can ask for a Residential certificate. So, the Candidate should carry a Residential Certificate.
Educational Qualifications
  • The minimum qualification required to be eligible for GCET 2023 is candidates have to qualify class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects under Goa state board or CBSE board.
  • In the qualifying examination, candidates must secure a minimum of 45% (overall).
  • The applicants, who belong to OBC/SC and ST categories must have to secure an overall 40% (minimum)
Non-Indian Residents Non-residential Indians holding an Indian passport can apply for the seats reserved under the NRI category. They consider Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) eligible for admissions to seats under the NRI Category.
 Eligibility Criteria for Kashmiri Migrants
  • Candidates who belong to the Kashmir migrate category should have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination with English, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology 
  • Secured a minimum of 45% aggregate in the subjects of Physics and Mathematics with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.
 Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Degree Holder Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as a subject at Standard 10+2 at least 45% marks have to secure for apply CGET 2023 (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, shall be eligible for admission to the first year of engineering degree courses, subject to vacancies).

  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized board. He/she should have Physics, Mathematics, and English as a mandatory subject and any one of following the additional subject in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Computer Science.
  • Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks aggregate for the general group and 40% for SC/ST/PH candidates.
B. Arch.
  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations with Mathematics subject.
  • They should have scored a minimum of 50% marks aggregate for the general group and 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Candidates should also qualify for the NATA exam.
BHMS and AHS
  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subject. 
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks aggregate for the general group and 40% for SC/ST/PH candidates.
B. Sc. Nursing
  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subject.
  • He/she should have scored at least 45% marks aggregate for the general group and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
B. Pharma.
  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • Apart from the above subject, candidates should have an additional subject in Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer Science.
