IIFT selection process 2025 will be conducted as part of the admission process. The institute will shortlist the candidates based on their CAT scores for Indian candidates, while GMAT scores for foreign candidates. Earlier, the IIFT selection process was conducted for the candidates who secured the minimum cut-off specified by the exam authority.

The IIFT admission process involves three stages of selection- a Written Ability Test (WAT), an Extempore, and a Personal Interview. The extempore and the interview round is conducted online. The process is expected to be held soon. The final merit list will be released based on the candidate's performance in all the stages. The last date to register for IIFT MBA-IB or MBA-BA was Dec 5, 2024.

  • Selection for IIFT admission is based on the GMAT or CAT scores.

IIFT WAT/GD/PI Details

After being shortlisted, candidates will receive calls for the various admission rounds, including group discussions, interviews, and writing skills assessments. These rounds will take place tentatively in Mar 2025 in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai.

IIFT 2025 selection process also includes the following three rounds:

Written Ability Test

  • In this phase, applicants must either write an essay or respond to inquiries based on a comprehension that was provided to them. Their writing abilities will be assessed based on the essay or the responses given to them.
  • They have 20 minutes to complete the task, and the essay can only be 300 words long.

Group Discussion

  • A topic is provided to a group of 8–10 candidates to discuss during the GD round. Each candidate introduces himself and offers their viewpoint on the subject at the start of the group discussion. The floor is open for discussion after everyone has had a chance to speak. This round has a 30-minute time limit in total.
  • The applicants will be required to talk on a predetermined subject if the institute chooses to conduct extempore rather than a GD. The candidates will be required to deliver a reasoned and persuading argument on the

Personal Interview

The interview process will involve calling each candidate individually. Once more, the main goal of the interview is to evaluate the candidate's communication abilities, his familiarity with current affairs and business events, as well as many other factors.

How to Fill IIFT CV Form 2025?

Candidates must complete the IIFT Extempore-PI application form if they meet the admission cutoff. The steps for completing the IIFT PI application form are outlined below.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website or log in there.
  • Step 2: Date of birth and the IIFT application number must be entered.
  • Step 3: Enter your educational background, professional experience, and other accomplishments in Part A of the application.
  • Step 4: Write a 100-word essay about your career focus in Part B.
  • Step 5: Write a 100-word essay about your managerial traits for Part C.
  • Step 6: After reviewing the form, press "submit."
  • Step 7: Candidates must retain a copy of their CV after submitting it for their records.

IIFT Admission Process 2025

Shortlisting and Extempore-PI are the first two stages of the IIFT selection process. According to their performance on the IIFT entrance exam, students are selected for Extempore-PI at the shortlisting stage. Selection is based on percentile cutoffs for both the overall and specific sections. The cutoff is relaxed by two marks for female candidates. Performance in classes 10 and 12 is also taken into account for PI shortlisting in addition to the IIFT cut off 2025.

Candidates are granted a date and time slot for their online appearance before the panel during the Extempore-PI round. They must make an extempore presentation of their case on a predetermined subject before taking questions from the admissions committee.

Number of MBA Seats at IIFT

For admission to IIFT's three campuses, between 35,000 and 40,000 students take the entrance exam, and about 1,000 of them are shortlisted for GD-PI. A total of 420 students are chosen out of those 1,000 for final admission.
