IIFT eligibility criteria 2024 is set by NTA for candidates willing to appear for the entrance exam. Candidates will have to satisfy the educational qualifications specified to appear for the exam. IIFT eligibility criteria are different for different categories. Failing to meet the eligibility criteria will lead to the cancellation of the candidature of the applicant. In the official notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body of IIFT 2024, established the eligibility conditions for the exam. Only qualified applicants may apply for the IIFT 2024. According to the basic IIFT eligibility standards, one must have a minimum of three years of Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with 50% marks (45% for reserved category).   • Age Restrictions: There are no age restrictions for applicants who intend to apply for the IIFT exam. The NTA, the program's governing body, has not set an age limit for the MBA (IB) programme.
  • Job Experience: According to IIFT exam criteria, prior work experience is not required for candidates to complete the IIFT 2024 application form. Work experience, on the other hand, may be given significant weightage in the selection process.
  • Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree of at least three years duration in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50 per cent aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ST and PwD applicants) is required.
  • Candidates in their last year of graduation may also apply if documentation is submitted before the last date.

Basic Educational Qualification

IIFT MBA Eligibility For NRI/ Foreign Applicants

To appear for the IIFT 2024 test, NRI or overseas applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a minimum of three years of study and a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate.
  • Those who have taken a qualifying examination may also apply for the exam.
  • The candidate must have been a resident outside India for at least 18 months as of Dec 31, 2021, and must be present outside India during the IIFT examination window.
  • They must present a certificate from the Indian Embassy/High Commission/Consulate in the nation where they are currently based confirming that they have been continuously resident in the country during the specified period.
  • Foreign nationals must have taken the GMAT after Jan 1, 2024, and must have a GMAT score by the stipulated date.
  • If the individual has previously taken any other MBA entrance exam in India for that year (2024), they are ineligible to apply. They must provide an undertaking for the same.
  • This group does not include NRI-sponsored candidates or NRI offspring.

Undertaking

An undertaking that the candidate has not appeared for any MBA entrance examination for that year such as CAT 2024/ XAT/ IIFT, etc.

Two letters of recommendation

Preferably, one from a current supervisor or manager and another from someone who is in a position to evaluate the applicant’s professional performance, managerial, and leadership potential. 

Certificate of Residence

Indian nationals need to submit a certificate issued by the Indian Embassy of the present country stating that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18 months as on the prescribed date

IIFT Exam Eligibility Criteria: Domestic Candidates

IIFT Eligibility 2024 for domestic candidates for the academic year 2024-26 has been somewhat modified. Candidates who meet the following criteria will be eligible for the IIFT 2024 Eligibility Criteria and will be able to apply for IIFT 2024 exam for admission to the MBA (IB) 2024-26 batch.

Age Limit for IIFT Exam 2024 Eligibility

There is no minimum or maximum age limit for IIFT eligibility 2024. As a result, there is no age limit for appearing in the IIFT 2024 Exam admission 2024.

Work Experience in IIFT 2024 Eligibility

The IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 does not include any mandated minimum job experience requirements. IIFT 2024 exam eligibility criteria include any new candidate with the necessary qualifications. However, in the final admissions process, IIFT may provide some weightage to individuals with job experience ranging from one to five years.

One of the most important elements in the IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 is that the admission of a candidate who begins the programme on a provisional basis but fails to qualify in the Bachelor's degree test with the required percentage of marks is subject to cancellation.

IIFT 2024 Eligibility on Residential Status

A candidate who has been a resident outside India for at least 18 months as of Dec 31, 2021, and continues to be a resident outside India during the IIFT examination window qualifies for the IIFT 2024 eligibility requirements.

Candidates must check all the requirements set by the exam authority for the IIFT 2024 eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Final Year Students of Qualifying Exam

Another important element in the IIFT eligibility requirements 2024 is that applicants who are taking a qualifying test (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) are also eligible to apply for the IIFT 2024 exam, provided they provide proof of qualification.

IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Scholarship

IIFT provides need-based scholarships in which the interest on their education loan is subsidised for 27 months from the time the loan is obtained from the bank.

  • This scholarship scheme is open to any student who has taken out debt and whose family income is less than INR 4,50,000 per year.
  • Every year, the amount of the education loan is updated based on the tuition charge and other expenses.
  • Candidates can learn more about all of the scholarship programmes given by the Government of India by visiting the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in.
  • If a student fails any exam during any year of the MBA IB programme, his scholarship will be automatically revoked.

Need-Based Scholarship Scheme

IIFT operates a 'Need-Based Scholarship Scheme.' It pays an interest subsidy for a certain period on Educational Loan from a bank taken by the student whose annual income is less than INR 4.50 lakh. Depending upon the tuition fee, additional charges, and other essential expenses, the amount of the educational loan is revised every year.

Central Sector Scholarship Scheme

The Ministry of Social Service and Empowerment and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs have introduced a liberal scholarship scheme called the 'Central Sector Scholarship Scheme' for SC and ST students. Under this scheme, 4 students from SC and ST communities are selected based on merit, and their applications are forwarded to the Ministries to be awarded a scholarship. The scholarship includes:

  • Tuition fees and non-refundable charges
  • Living expenses are INR 2200 per month, subject to actuals.
  • Books and stationary expenses are INR 3000 per month, subject to actuals.
  • The latest computer with accessories with an upper cap limit of INR 45000 (One time).

Please note that IIFT retains all the final authority to add or remove any scholarship scheme or change the existing clause(s) as per requirement.
