JoSAA seat matrix 2024 has been released by the authority. The candidates can check the previous years' JoSAA seat matrix released by the official authorities. In JoSAA 2024 seat matrix there were 17740 seats for IITs, 24229 for NITs, 8546 for IIITs, and 9402 for GFTIs.
The JoSAA stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority, and the organising committee is the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). Additionally, the JoSAA seat matrix displays the seat intake for each category for each institute.
JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024
Once the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams are over and results are published, JoSAA announces the number of seats available for admission for each course for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. In addition, the JoSAA seat matrix is released online every year, and a detailed list of courses and seats is mentioned.

JoSAA Seat Allotment Process 2024
The score or the percentile of JEE Main and JEE Advanced decides the JoSAA seat matrix and allotment. After that, the seats are allotted to the candidates, and if they are willing to let go of the seats, they can do so. Usually, there are six rounds of JoSAA counselling. As of now, authorities have released JoSAA round 1 seat allotment 2024 on Jun 30, 2024.
Suppose a candidate gets a seat far from his place and is unwilling to relocate; they can leave the seat and sit for the next round. Other than that, the seats are vacated by candidates due to needing a seat in their desired college or course. The process of JoSAA seat allotment is as follows:
Filling up JoSAA Online Application Form 2024
As a stepping stone, candidates must fill out the application form. The steps to do so are as follow:
- Candidates must go to the official page/website of JoSAA.
- Next, click on the registration link to register for the exam.
- Followed by filling up the registration form with all the necessary details.
- Pay the application fee with their choice of payment.
JoSAA Choice Filling Option 2024
After registration, candidates can advance to fill up their choice for JoSAA counselling. Additionally, candidates will be facilitated with the option of two-three choices. The steps are as follows:
- Candidates must click on the choice of college and subject.
- However, a conscious choice is a must according to rank.
- Once the candidate enters the choice, they can neither change nor alter their preferences.
JoSAA Document Verification and Reporting
JoSAA counselling requires candidates to produce original documents while reporting to the respective college. Here are some essential points:
- The JoSAA counselling will be held in multiple rounds (usually up to 6 rounds).
- As mentioned by the officials, candidates are requested to report to their respective colleges.
- Next, after the counselling is conducted, candidates must wait for the college to publish the list of selected candidates.
- If they are shortlisted, they must pay the admission fee.
- Lastly, reporting to the allotted college is a must.
Note: Candidates can skip reporting to the college if they want an upgrade.
