GATE ME took place on February 14, 2021, in 2 slots. There were approx. 60 questions that included both: - Numerical Answer Types and Multiple-Choice Questions. There were in total 25 numerical questions. The paper in total was 100 marks. The candidates were given a time of 3 hours to attempt the paper.

The GATE mechanical exam 2020 duration was three hours in the first shift and also three hours in the second. The second shift was held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There were 65 MCQs and the exam paper was for 100 marks in total.
- As per the students who appeared for the exam, it was of moderate difficulty.
