How to Check GATE 2025 Cutoff?
Candidates can access the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in to view the GATE Cutoff 2025. To check GATE cut off, follow these simple steps:
- Step 1: Candidates must go to the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in
- Step 2: Go to the Homepage and select the GATE Cutoff 2025 PDF link.
- Step 3: A new tab will open up with the cut-off PDF link. The qualifying percentage of applicants for each paper will be provided along with the cut off for that paper.
- Step 4: You can print out the same page for your records.
Factors Determining 2025 GATE Cutoff
The qualifying marks were released for all 30 papers, category-wise, as PDF files on the official website by IIT Roorkee. The minimum score a candidate must receive to pass the exam is known as the qualifying GATE cutoff 2025.
For each of the 30 papers, it is published as GATE marks out of 100. The minimum scores required by applicants for admission to IITs, NITs, or GFTIs are known as GATE Admission Cut Off 2025.
The competition in the GATE 2025 exam is not confined to a particular stream or branch of engineering. However, the GATE cutoff 2025 is defined by several parameters. The following are some key elements that affect the GATE cutoff 2025:
- Head Count: Every year over one lakh engineers take the GATE exam. Hence, high competition is prevalent and plays a huge role in determining the subject-wise GATE Cutoff 2025.
- A Complex Paper: The level of difficulty set for each subject in the GATE exam has a huge impact on determining the GATE 2025 cut off. When a tough paper is designed for GATE, the GATE 2025 cut-off may automatically reduce comparatively.
- Limited Seats: The number of recruitment posts available in PSUs that accept GATE scores and the seats in each college influence the range of GATE Cutoff 2025.
- Candidate Performance: Increased competition among the students means candidates have to be well prepared for the exam. This, in turn, increases the chances of high cutoffs.
- Previous Years’ Cutoff Trends: Previous years’ cutoff are one of the major factors determining GATE cutoff trends. Since the candidates prepare for the exam based on the previous years’ records, drastic increases in the cutoff can be demotivating and reduce the chances of admission.

GATE Qualifying Cut Off vs Admission Cut Off
GATE 5 cutoff is the score that applicants must achieve to be considered for admission to the M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD programmes available at the participating institutes. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check the cut off marks for different papers below.
The distinction between GATE qualifying cut off 2025 and the GATE admission cut off 2025 must be understood by students participating in GATE 2025.
- GATE Qualifying Cut off: GATE qualifying cut off 2025, also known as GATE Cutoff 2025, is the minimum score needed by applicants to be eligible to sit for the exam. For each of the 30 subjects for which the exam will be administered, a different cut off will apply for GATE 2025. GATE Cutoff 2025 will change depending on the various candidate groups. The conducting institute also announces the GATE qualifying cut off along with GATE results 2025.
- GATE Admission Cut off: The minimum score needed by applicants to be admitted to participating institutions is known as GATE Admission Cut off 2025. The institute releases GATE entrance cut off 2025 at the time admission is wanted.
The category-wise qualifying cut off will be released on the official website. Candidates who qualify for GATE 2025 by obtaining the cut off marks will be called for the GATE counselling process 2025. The All India Rank is allotted to candidates based on GATE cut off 2025 marks released by the conducting body.
