The GATE Electrical Engineering 2022 paper was easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level, as per the feedback of students. The paper was completely computer-based. Here are some of the major highlights related to the GATE EE exam analysis 2022:
- The majority of questions were asked about Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Engineering Mathematics, and General Aptitude.

A brief analysis of the GATE Electrical Engineering 2022 technical section is mentioned in the points beneath:
- Most of the questions were from the converter in power electronics, and one theory question was from the switching frequency of switches.
- In network theory, all questions were easy.
- In the power system, questions were easy to moderate.

Candidates revealed that the GATE Electrical Engineering paper 2021 was moderate to tough when it comes to the difficulty level. The GATE EE exam was successfully conducted on February 7, 2021, in the forenoon session from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

GATE EE Analysis 2020
The GATE EE Examination 2020 was moderately difficult, as per the opinion of students. It was held on February 8 in the forenoon session, i.e., from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. There were a total of 65 questions, including both MCQs and Numerical Answer types. The total marks that could be scored were 100.
- The technical part of the Electrical Engineering paper in 2020 was tough. The overall had a combination of tough questions. Therefore, it was labelled as a moderate to difficult paper.
- Some students said that the EE paper was lengthy compared to other GATE subject papers.
- Due to a higher difficulty level, the expected cutoff was also very low.

GATE EE Marking Scheme
Besides knowing the GATE 2024 EE paper analysis, candidates should have clarity about the marking scheme of the GATE Electrical Engineering exam. This will help them to get to know the areas that they will need to focus on the most due to the heavy weightage on them.
With a clear understanding of the marking scheme, students can also approximate their predicted marks after the examination is over.
Additionally, a negative marking will be there for NAT and MSQ-type questions. 1/3rd mark will be deducted for 1 marker question, and 2/3rd mark will be deducted for 2 markers.
