Tamil Nadu NEET Rank List 2023 - Tie Breaker Rule

When 2 or more applicants achieve the same rank in the merit list, then the authorities use the tie-breaking policy to make a decision. The following methods are utilized to break the tie:

• Tie 1: Candidates who secure higher scores in biology will be preferred over others.
• Tie 2: If the tie does not resolve, then candidates with better scores in chemistry will be considered.
• Tie 3: In case the above-mentioned method fails to break the tie, then preference will be given to candidates with fewer incorrect responses on the NEET exam.
• Tie 4: Lastly, the older candidate will be given preference.

Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Merit List for 85% State Quota Seats

Authorities will release a separate merit list for seats under management, state, and NRI quota. Only 85% of the state quota will be filled through the Tamil Nadu NEET merit list 2023. While for filling up the remaining 15% of AIQ seats, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will take charge.

What Happens After Release of Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Merit List?

Once the Tamil Nadu NEET merit list 2023 is published, authorities will start the counselling procedure. Candidates who make it to the merit list will be called to participate in Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 counselling. 

The counselling will take place in 3 rounds, including the mop-up round. Applicants will be allowed to fill their choices of colleges and courses during the counselling process. TN MBBS/BDS admissions will depend on the choices made, reservation criteria, NEET results, and other factors.
