Nationality
As per the eligibility criteria of VITEEE 2025, the following candidates were eligible to apply for VIT.
- Indian citizens, Non-resident Indians (NRI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are eligible to apply.
- Foreign nationals can also apply for admissions into VIT. The application form for VITEEE 2025 is separate for foreign nationals.
Age Limit
VITEEE considered candidates if they fulfil the age eligibility criteria. It had been stated that candidates had to be born on or after July 1, 2001, to be eligible to apply for VITEEE 2025. Candidates must submit any of the following certificates only as proof of age.
- High School
- SSC
- Class X Certificate
Educational Qualification
Fulfilling the VITEEE 2025 educational eligibility criteria was very important for the applicants. Therefore, candidates will only be accepted if they fulfil any of the below-mentioned criteria.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates applying for UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2025, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
- The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
- Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- As per VIT Norms, Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. Applicants should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
- They should also provide the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Total (including all subjects) and upload the scanned copy of the mark list and other relevant documents whenever available on the application form.
- For Indian nationals/ NRI/ PIO card holder, appearance in VITEEE is mandatory to be eligible for B. Tech. admission under regular mode (Applicants under International/NRI quota exempted) . In case VITEEE gets cancelled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE or a valid SAT. Applicants will be informed with specifics in such case.
Eligibility Criteria for Qualifying Examination
- Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2025 should have secured minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
- Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2025 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
VITEEE 2025 Subject-Wise Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have opted for the MPCEA combination in the VITEEE 2025 exam can apply for all the B.Tech programs offered by the Institute.
Candidates who have opted for the BPCEA combination in the VITEEE 2025 exam can apply only for the B.Tech programs under the Biology Stream. But the candidate must study Mathematics as a course after joining the respective B.Tech course.
- B.Tech in Bio-Engineering (VIT-Bhopal)
- B.Tech in Biotechnology (VIT-Vellore)
- B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with Specialisation in Bioinformatics (VIT-Vellore)
- B.Tech in Electronics and Communication with Specialisation in Biomedical Engineering (VIT-Vellore)
Note: The combinations available in the VITEEE 2025 Exam are:
- MPCEA - Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/English/Aptitude
- BPCEA - Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ English/ Aptitude
Suppose a VIT applicant has also taken up biology in their schooling. In that case, they can apply for any of the 3 biology courses at VITEEE - Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics, and Applied Microbiology. VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Reserved Category Candidates
The VITEEE eligibility criteria 2025 will require the candidates belonging to the reserved categories to produce relevant certificates to prove their reservation status. The eligibility for reserved categories will be as follows:
- SC/ ST candidates will have to produce relevant category certificates as proof of belonging to the reserved category
- Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and North-Eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, will have to produce relevant certificates as proof of nativity to these regions.
- The decision of the institution in regards to a candidate's admissions will be final in situations where candidates fail to produce category and nativity certificates.
VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Foreign and NRI Candidates
The VITEEE eligibility criteria for foreign and Non-resident Indian candidates are as follows.
- Candidates must have studied English as one of their core subjects in their respective qualifying exams.
- Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as compulsory subjects in their qualifying exam.
- Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in their core subjects at the 10+2 level.
- Candidates should have studied in an English medium school.
- At the A-level/ Form VI/ Senior VI or equivalent level, mathematics and physics must be studied as compulsory subjects.
VITEEE Application Process 2025
As mentioned above, candidates need to check their eligibility before applying for the VITEEE 2025 exam. Once candidates successfully submit their applications and pay the application fees, they will book slots for the VITEEE 2025 exam.
The application forms can be accessed online on VIT's official website or offline as an OMR sheet. Starting from 2020, VIT started mobile applications for candidates to download the app and fill in VITEEE application form. The application dates are mentioned in the table below.

Note: For offline applications, candidates will have to get the OMR form from the designated post offices or from VIT's campus. The OMR forms will have to fill and sent to the VIT campus by registered post or speed post.
