West Bengal NEET Counselling 2024: Dates, Registration, Seat Matrix, Allotment

West Bengal NEET Counselling will begin after the announcement of the NEET Result 2024 for the academic year 2024-25. NEET 2024 results will be released on June 14, 2024 post which the WB NEET counselling will begin tentatively in July 2024.  The authorities will release the seat allotment results of MBBS and BDS courses for stray vacancy round counselling on the official website. 
The counselling sessions are conducted online by the West Bengal Main Computerised Counselling (WBMCC). A candidate must score a minimum of 50% from the general category and 40% from the reserved category to apply for West Bengal NEET 2024 counselling in various government/private medical colleges affiliated with the State Medical University of West Bengal.

1. West Bengal NEET 2024 Counselling Registration

Candidates can register for West Bengal NEET 2024 Counselling by following the below-mentioned steps:

• Go to the official website of WBMCC- wbmcc.nic.in
• Then, click on the “New Registration/ Online Enrollment” button. 
• Next, fill out the registration form and choose the type of domicile.
• Lastly, click on the “submit” button after filling out the registration form. 

2. Counselling Fee

Upon submission of the registration form, every applicant has to pay the required to pay counselling of West Bengal MBBS fee as per their category. The receipt of the fee paid should be presented during the document verification stage.

3. Choice Filling & Locking

4. Seat Allotment

• WBMCC releases the seat allotment results based on the choice of the candidates.
• The seats will be allotted according to the candidate’s preference for college.

5. Reporting and Document Verification at Respective Colleges

After the allotment results are released, candidates must report to the allotted institute on the specified date without fail. If they fail to report to the concerned institute during the stipulated timeframe, WBMCC will cancel their candidature.

Domicile Certificate for West Bengal NEET 2024 Counselling

Candidates can select the type of domicile and the category for the WBMCC NEET Counselling 2024. One of the mandates to participate in the counselling process is that the applicant should possess a domicile certificate from the West Bengal state.

• Proforma a1: Candidates who have resided in the State of West Bengal continuously for the past 10 years (or more) as of December 31, 2024.
• Proforma a2: Candidates who had been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously for the past 10 years (or more) as of December 31, 2024, and have passed their 10+2 examination in the previous year or before.
• Proforma b: Candidates who do not reside in the State of West Bengal but whose parents are a permanent resident of West Bengal and has a permanent address in the State of West Bengal.

Authorities to Assign the Domicile Certificate for West Bengal NEET 2024

Competent authorities to issue the domicile certificate for WBJEE 2024 is as mentioned below. Candidates have to ensure they get it signed before appearing for the counselling. 

• District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrates, Deputy Magistrate, District Collector, Sub-divisional Officers, and Block Development Officers.
• Superintendent of Police, Additional Sub-divisional Officer, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner of police.
• Judicial Magistrate, hon'ble Supreme Court or High Court of West Bengal.
• Corporation Area: Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner.

West Bengal NEET 2024 Counselling Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to participate in the West Bengal NEET counselling 2024 have to comply with certain eligibility criteria. For the benefit of candidates, we have listed the criteria below:

• The aspirant should have qualified for the NEET Entrance Examination.
• Aspirants must have a domicile in West Bengal.
• The aspirants must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotechnology, and English is the compulsory subject with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST category candidates, and for the physically handicapped candidates, 45% marks are required.
• Age Criteria: As of 31-12-2024, the candidate must be at least 17 years of age.
• A candidate whose date of birth falls on or after 02-01-2005 is not eligible for admission to MBBS or BDS Courses.
