IPU CET Counselling Procedure 2024

Candidates who received a valid Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 score were eligible for IPU BA LLB counseling 2024 registration. IPU BA LLB 2024 counselling result for round 1 was announced on Jul 8, 2024.

The students appearing for the counselling sessions should bring their respective admit cards along with them. Test takers must check the step-wise procedure for IPU CET 2024 counselling mentioned below.

Step 1: Submission of Counselling Fee

Submit the fee of INR 1000 to be eligible to participate in the counselling concerning the respective CET code. The steps to make the payment of counselling fee are as follows.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of GGSIPU University.
  • Step 2: Click on 'Payment of Counselling Participation Fee'.
  • Step 3: Enter the details asked, such as the CET code of the applied course, date of birth, and CET roll number.

Payment Through Challan: Pay the fee in cash at any branch of an Indian bank through the challan provided on the official website. One copy of challan will be retained by the bank and another one by the candidate for future reference.

Payment Through Net Banking: The counselling fees can be paid through credit or debit card or net banking.

On the official website, check the status of the fee payment and take a print of the online fee confirmation slip along with the transaction ID. Pay the online fees before the due dates to avoid any transaction failure & technical faults during the fee submission.

Step 2: Registration Process

If the counselling fee is paid through challan, then the registration process for such candidates begins after two working days of fee submission.

  • To register, fill in CET details of the course, and after authentication, enter the academic & contact details. Meanwhile, a login ID and password shall be sent. Change the password if needed & keep it confidential.
  • In the case of a registration failure, the candidate must visit the university helpdesk in person with a challan copy or fee receipt (whatever applicable).
  • Change your registration details by going through ‘Edit Details'.
  • Aspirants must take two printouts of the registration form required at the time of document verification.

Step 3: Choice Filling

Mark the preference among the affiliated colleges of IP University by making combinations of streams and colleges. After marking the choices, seat allocation will be carried out by the university.

  • Test takers should fill maximum choices as possible, as it increases the chances of getting the desired seat in the desired college. Check IPU CET cut off to study the number of seats and their distribution in terms of rank, stream, and institute.
  • Less number of choices can lead to the non-allocation of seats for admissions.
  • In case, the candidate is not able to secure admission in the first counselling round, a change in preference in the subsequent rounds of counselling is applicable.

Step 4: Seat Allotment Result (In Every Round)

After a choice filling period, the seat will be allotted to candidates based on merit and respective category and region. Candidates can check the result from the candidate’s official login account on the official website.

  • If the seat will be allotted to the candidates, they can print the provisional seat allotment letter.
  • Candidates have to pay INR 40,000 to confirm their seats as a part of the academic fee.
  • Print the part academic fee details in the stipulated period.

Freezing of Allotted Seat (After Each Round)

  • After allotting the seats, if candidates are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not want to participate in further counselling rounds, they can freeze their seats by selecting the ‘Freeze’ option.
  • If the candidate does not freeze the allotted seat, they will be allotted the next higher preference automatically in the next round.

Withdrawal and Fee Refund (If Required)

  • After depositing the academic fee, if a candidate wants to withdraw from the allotted seat, the seat can be withdrawn by selecting the withdraw option on the login account before the last date.
  • After withdrawing and refunding of fee, the candidate will not be considered for subsequent rounds of online counselling except for spot counselling.

Last Round of Allotment

  • After the last round of allotment of seats, there will be no option for withdrawing seats and refund of fees.
  • In the last round of online counselling, the category-wise and region-wise seats will be converted to unreserved category seats.

Sliding of Allotted Seat

  • Candidates with allotted seats, having paid the part academic fee and frozen their seats, and have not withdrawn will be considered for a sliding round of online counselling. The sliding round will depend on the preferences already selected by the candidates on a merit basis.
  • After the sliding round, the seat-allocated candidates must report to the institution for document verification and submission of the balance amount of fees.

Step 5: Reporting to the Institution

  • After sliding, round candidates can generate the provisional admission slip along with enrollment numbers.
  • Candidates must report to the allotted college along with the admission slip, provisional allotment letter, academic fee receipt, and necessary documents.
  • Failing to produce the required documents will automatically lead to the cancellation of admission.
  • If seats remain vacant in the participating institutions/ colleges, the university will update the status on the university website and conduct the spot round of counselling.

IPU CET Spot Counselling 2024

Spot counselling serves as the last option for candidates to acquire a seat in the university. The process will be conducted in offline mode after the completion of the first and second counselling round.

Who is Eligible for Spot Counselling Procedure?

Applicants who have not taken admission through rounds one and two of counselling provided that they must have qualified in CET. Any candidate who has participated in any round of counselling but has withdrawn is also eligible.

Candidates with the ‘Not Admitted’ tag (due to several reasons) are eligible.

Who are Not Eligible for Spot Counselling Procedure?

A candidate who has already been admitted through both rounds and paid the academic fee at the time of spot counselling will not be eligible for the spot counselling process.

Note: Facility of the fee withdrawal will be available only in rounds 1 and 2 of online counselling but not in case of spot counselling.
