How to Apply to CLAT Colleges?

Students can apply for admission to these CLAT colleges in two ways. The application process for CLAT participating colleges differs from that of private CLAT colleges. The steps to apply for the respective colleges are given below.

Steps to Apply for CLAT Participating Colleges

Students can apply to CLAT 2025 participating colleges only through CLAT scores. Therefore, to apply, they must complete the CLAT exams. The steps to apply for the CLAT participating colleges are outlined below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the Consortium of NLUs.
  • Step 2: Login by entering your registered ID and password.
  • Step 3: Click on the link for CLAT counselling.
  • Step 4: Select the preferred CLAT Participating Colleges.
  • Step 5: Pay the CLAT counselling fee.

The seats will be allotted to the students based on their eligibility and CLAT scores. Students may choose to accept their preferred NLUs. They can also opt for an upgrade by paying the fee associated with it or withdraw from the seat allocation process.

To apply for colleges other than the CLAT participating colleges, students can follow the steps below:

Selection Process of CLAT Colleges 2025

The selection process of CLAT participating colleges is on merit-cum-preference basis. This means that the admission is determined by the candidate's rank in the CLAT 2025 exam, the order of preference given by the candidate in the CLAT 2025 application form, the category selected by the candidate in the online application form, and the availability of seats in each of the participating NLU. 

The selection process of CLAT colleges other than NLUs usually includes:

  • Students will be eligible for admission based on their CLAT score.
  • Students who qualify for the institution's cut off will be called for GD/WAT.
  • There may be a Personal Interview round.
  • The final merit list will be released including the names of the candidates who have completed all the above-mentioned rounds.
