The State Board of School Education in Haryana has created an updated Class 12 Chemistry syllabus for 2025. The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) will conduct the HBSE 12th exam 2025 from March 2025 (tentative). The practical exam for private candidates will be held in November 2024 (tentative).
The Haryana Board (BSEH) Class 12 Chemistry syllabus has multiple important contents to prepare learners for the class and experimental aspects of the subject, such as delineating fundamental principles in solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, coordination compounds, biomolecules, and biliary tract cancer.
Each unit deals with specific concepts, thereby supporting the theoretical and practical uses of the particular principles. Learning this syllabus is important to enable the students to focus on more relevant and main topics, look at the assessment scheme, and take the examinations without fear.
Listed below is the break down of every topic’s coverage in each chapter:
Chapter | Topics Included |
Unit 1: Solutions | Types of solutions, concentration expressions, solubility, vapor pressure, Raoult’s law, colligative properties, molar mass, abnormal molar masses |
Unit 2: Electrochemistry | Electrochemical cells, Galvanic cells, Nernst equation, conductance of electrolytic solutions, electrolytic cells, batteries, fuel cells, corrosion |
Unit 3: Chemical Kinetics | Reaction rate, rate laws, order of reaction, molecularity, integrated rate equations, temperature dependence of reaction rate, collision theory |
Unit 4: d- and f- Block Elements | Position in the periodic table, properties of transition metals, oxidation states, chemical reactivity, magnetic properties, lanthanoids, actinoids |
Unit 5: Coordination Compounds | Werner’s theory, nomenclature, isomerism, formation of coordination compounds |
Unit 6: Haloalkanes and Haloarenes | Nomenclature, preparation, properties, chemical reactions, uses of polyhalogen compounds like chloroform, DDT |
Unit 7: Alcohols, Phenols, and Ethers | Classification, preparation of alcohols and phenols, properties, reactions of ethers |
Unit 8: Aldehydes, Ketones, and Carboxylic Acids | Nomenclature, structure, preparation, chemical reactions, uses |
Unit 9: Amines | Classification, preparation, properties, reactions, diazonium salts |
Unit 10: Biomolecules | Carbohydrates, proteins, enzymes, vitamins, nucleic acids, hormones |
