HBSE Class 12 History Syllabus has been published by the Board of School Education, Haryana on the official website bseh.org.in. The link to the syllabus can be found on the official website at bseh.org.in.

This syllabus includes 12 chapters including Bricks, Beads and Bones (The Harappan Civilization), Kings, Farmers and Towns (Early States and Economics), Kinship, Caste and Class (Early Societies), Thinkers, Beliefs and Buildings (Cultural Developments) and many more.

HBSE Class 12 History Exam will be conducted for 100 Marks. The theory exam will be for 80 marks including Map Work and the internal assessment will carry 20 Marks.

HBSE Class 12th History Syllabus: Internal Assessment

In the Annual Examination of HBSE Class 12th History Subject,the theory will be for 80 marks and internal assessment would be for 20 marks. More details regarding Internal Assessment can be checked below:

For Internal Assessment:

There will be Internal Periodic Assessment that would include:

(i) For 4 marks- Three SAT exams will be conducted and will carry a weightage of 04 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.

(ii) For 2 marks- One half yearly exam will be held and will have a weightage of 02 marks towards the final Internal Assessment.

(iii) For 2 marks- Pre- Board exam will be conducted and will carry a weightage of 02 marks for  final Internal Assessment.

(iv) For 2 marks- The subject teacher will evaluate and give a maximum of 02 marks for CRP (Classroom participation).

(v) For 5 marks- Project work assigned to students will have a weightage of 05 marks for final Internal Assessment.

(vi) For 5 marks- Student’s Attendance will be awarded 05 marks as:

  • 75% to 80% - 01 marks
  • Above 80% to 85% - 02 marks
  • Above 85% to 90% - 03 marks
  • Above 90% to 95% - 04 marks
  • Above 95% to 100%- 05 marks

Candidates can check out the preparation tips for HBSE Class 12th History Syllabus:

  • Candidates should practice essay type questions while writing in a clear and concise manner as it holds 18 marks For eg, The question paper might ask you to write on Main teachings of Sikhism or Tasks performed by the rulers in the Harappan Society.
  • Concentrate on source-based and assertion-reason questions as these require the thinking process and the given information's analysis. You may become familiar with this kind of question and may find it easier to write answers at the time of exams within the given time limit.
