MPBSE class 10th grading system 2025 follows a 9-point grade scale ranging from grades A+ to E based on the percentage achieved by students. Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), is conducting the class 10th examinations from February 27, 2025, to March 19, 2025, and will declare the class 10th results on June 2025 (tentative).

Students must get at least a D+ to be considered a pass in the MPBSE class 10th exam, while grades of D and E indicate failure in specific subjects. Students can easily calculate grades according to the MPBSE 2025 class 10th grading system using individual scores obtained in subjects. 

MPBSE Class 10th exam results will be released in July on its official website. The report card mentions grades, qualifying status, student details, theory and practical scores, and more. 

MPBSE Class 10th Grading System 2025

MP Board class 10th grading system is based on the percentage achieved by students in overall subjects. 

There are nine grades in total, grades from A+ to E, where A+ is the highest grade and E indicates failure.

Grade Points for MPBSE Class 10th Grading System 2025 

Grade point for MPBSE class 10th refers to the 9 scale numbers from 9 to 1 representing different grades and scores. MPBSE class 10th students require a minimum grade point of 3 to score third division.

How Do I Calculate The Percentage From MPBSE Class 10th Grades?

Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education Class 10th percentage could be easily calculated by following the steps and instructions mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Add all the scores of each subject. For example: math (theory+practical score) + Science (theory+practical score) + English (theory+practical score) etc. 
  • Step 2: After adding the scores of all subjects, divide the sum of all subject scores by the total score multiplied by 100%. For example, there are 6 subjects, each with 100 marks in total. Divide added subject scores by 600 multiplied by 100%. 
  • Step 3: The student's percentage achieved is whatever the score is after dividing and multiplying by 100%. 
  • Step 4: This percentage could be compared using the MPBSE Class 10th grade chart provided above, and the grade point could be determined based on that.

MPBSE Class 10th Grading System 2025: Important Pointers

Students must keep in mind some important points about the MPBSE class 10th grading system 2025: 

  • The grade points are based on overall percentage and not just for specific subjects. 
  • Students need a minimum of a D+ grade to be considered to pass the MPBSE Class 10th examinations. 
  • Grade point 3 indicates the third division; grades 4 and 5 represent the second division, and 6 grade points hold the first division.
  • Students scoring above 6 grade points get awarded with distinction division. 
  • Students can also calculate their grade points by calculating the percentage. 
  • Students getting D or E grades will have to appear for compartment examinations of MPBSE Class 10th.

MPBSE Class 10th Marking scheme 

MPBSE Class 10th examination marking scheme is divided into theoretical and practical examinations. The overall score for each subject is 100, which constitutes 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for practicals. 

  • However, the science subject includes 75 marks for theory and 25 marks for practical, as it contains three sub-domains: chemistry, physics, and biology. MPBSE Class 10th exams are a mixture of Objective, subjective, and analytical questions. 
  • There is no negative marking for any subject or question. Students must score passing marks in both theory and practicals to pass Madhya Pradesh BSE Class 10th. Practicals include viva, experiments specific to the subject, and practical files. 
  • Students' contributions and attentiveness in learning sessions are also counted in the internal assessment of MPBSE Class 10th.

MPBSE Class 10th Passing Marks

MPBSE Class 10th passing marks is 33% aggregate percentage for both theory and practicals. Students must try to score 27 out of 80 marks in theory and 7 marks out of 20 in practicals. For subjects like science, 26 out of 75 marks for theory and 8 marks out of 25 for practicals are considered passing marks of MPBSE Class 10th. 

  • Students need to get MPBSE Class 10th passing marks in more than 2 subjects to have to repeat the academic session and take exams next year. 
  • The passing marks for compartment examinations of Class 10th Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education are the same: 33% overall.
