Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 Passing Marks: As per the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), students need to score at least 35% marks in each subject to pass TN Board Class 12 Exam. Students need to secure at least 210 pass marks out of 600 marks to pass the TN Board class 12 exam. The minimum passing marks in TN Board class 12 each paper is 30 marks out of 100. 

In the Tamil Nadu Board class 12 exam, the theory paper will be conducted for 70 Marks and the practicals/internals will be conducted for 30 marks. Students have to secure a minimum of 15 marks out of 70 marks in theory and must have appeared for the practicals. This article covers the details about the Tamil Nadu Board class 12 passing marks.

TN Board class exam will be conducted in three parts, where Part 1 is a language paper( Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic, French, German ) for which option will be provided. Part II is English language and Part III consists of the subjects of the course. The exam will consist of different types of questions, such as objective type, short answer type, and long answer type. There is no negative marking in the TN Board class 12 exam.

Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 Passing Marks for Practicals

Tamil Nadu Board Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has set a specific passing criteria for the total of theory, practical, and internal. It states that 35% marks in the TN Board class 12 exam. As per the Tamil Nadu Board class 12 passing marks, there is no minimum percentage to pass the practicals.

  • Students must secure at least 25 out of 90 marks in languages and subjects that do not have practicals.
  • Students in vocational programs that only require practicals should receive a minimum of 20 out of 75 marks.
  • Students must have received a minimum of 15 out of 70 marks in theory and participated in practicals for subjects which included both theory and practicals.

Tamil Nadu Board DGE follows a 10 point grading system to grade students based on the marks that they have achieved in the TN Board class 12 exam.   • Students should solve previous years' question papers, which will help them understand the marking scheme, the number of questions asked, the weightage, and help them predict the crucial questions in the TN Board class 12 exam.
