UP Board 10th Grading System 2025: How to Compute Overall CGPA

Students can easily calculate their overall CGPA. They just have to follow the below-mentioned steps.

  • Step 1: Find the sum of all grade points received.
  • Step 2: Divide the obtained sum by the total number of subjects.

Example: Consider that a student has obtained the following grade points in different subjects:

Mathematics- 9

Hindi- 8

English- 8

Science- 7

Social Science- 9

Now, following the above-mentioned steps:

  • Step 1: The Sum of all grade points 9+8+8+7+9 is 41
  • Step 2: Divide the obtained sum by 5, which is the total number of subjects.

41/5 = 8.2, which is close to 8, so the overall CGPA of the student is B1.

How to Convert CGPA into Percentage

The conversion of CGPA into a Percentage is also simple. Multiply the overall grade point by 9.5. If we look at the above example, the overall CGPA obtained was 8.2. Multiplying 8.2 by 9.5, the product obtained is 77.9%, which is the overall percentage obtained by the student.
