RBSE Class 12 Grading System 2025: Check Marking Scheme and Passing Marks

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education follows a 10-point scale grading system and the corresponding grades are awarded to students ranging from A1 to E2. The grades and the grade points indicate students’ overall performance in the RBSE 12th board examination.  

As per the RBSE grading system, students must get a grade of D to pass the exam. The equivalent marks for grade D are 33-40 and the grade point is 4. While grading the students’ performance, marks obtained in 5 subjects are considered- two language subjects and 3 core subjects. Scoring a minimum of 33 marks in each subject is mandatory. In fact,  it is mandatory to pass the theory part, the practical including the internal assessment to be declared a pass.

RBSE Class 12 Grading System 2025

The following pattern is followed to award grades and grade points in the RBSE class 12 result. Students with grade D will be declared “passed”.

How to calculate the percentage for RBSE 12th Grades?

RBSE 12th grade percentage can be calculated using the following steps:

  • Add the marks obtained in all the subjects.
  • Divide the sum by the maximum marks or the total marks
  • Now multiply the product or the result by 100 to get the percentage score in RBSE class 12.
(Total Marks Obtained / Total Maximum Marks) X 100

RBSE Class 12 Grading System 2025: Important Pointers

  • There will be no practical test for 1st language and 2nd language. The final written exam will be of 100 marks.
  • Students should take the internal assessment seriously. The marks scored in the internal assessment will be considered in the final term.
  •  The overall performance of the students will be judged based on the scores obtained in the 5 subjects.

RBSE Marking Scheme for Class 12 2025

RBSE class 12 pattern includes internal assessment, theory examination, and practicals. The marks distribution of science, commerce, and arts streams are discussed below:

  • Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology theory papers are allotted 54 marks. The internal assessment and the practicals are conducted for 14 and 30 marks respectively. For Maths, theory has 80 marks while internal assessment 20 marks.
  • Commerce: Each commerce subject is allotted 80 marks for the theory exam. The internal assessment consists of 20 marks
  • Arts: The total mark for the theory part is 80 for each arts subject and the internal assessment will be held for 20 marks.

RBSE 12th Passing Marks

Students appearing in the RBSE class 12 exam should know the pass marks to be scored in both theory and practical tests. In practical subjects of 70 marks, a minimum of 23 marks in theory and 6 marks in practical is mandatory to score. In subjects carrying 80 marks in theory, students have to score 26 marks to pass the exam.
