JAC Class 12 Grading System: Provision for Grace Marks

In the JAC class 12 grading system, there is a provision for grace marks. If a student is failing by a very minimum margin, then the board can decide to promote such a candidate based on the regulated criteria.

When a student is failing in a subject by less than 5%, then he/she may be allotted grace marks to qualify for that subject. If a candidate is failing in 2 subjects by less than 3% then he/she may be allotted grace marks in both such subjects. The decision to allot grace marks is taken solely as per the board’s guidelines.

Furthermore, if a student is unable to get a higher division by not more than 5 marks, then he/she might be given the minimum marks required to secure the higher division. To implement this criterion, the decision will be taken based on the original marks secured by the candidate.

The grades are in the range of A+ to D. In this system, an A+ grade highlights that a candidate has passed with distinction and a D grade means fail. To get a passing certificate in the JAC class 12th exam, a student must get at least 33% in both theory and practical papers of each subject. Hence, candidates must put in their best effort for these exams and they can surely pass with distinction. All the best!
