Students taking the Rajasthan Board class 12 exam are graded based on a 9-point grading scale.  As per the RBSE 12th grading system, the grading is done on the basis of total marks scored by a candidate on both theory and practical examinations.

The passing criteria of theory and practical examination vary based on various subjects. In the marksheet students are awarded on the basis of marks and grades. A candidate needs to score a minimum of 33 percent, that is ‘D’ grade to pass the examination.

RBSE 12th Grading System 2025

To pass the examination one needs to score a minimum grade of ‘D’ -33-40 marks where the grade point is 4. Those who score above 90 percent get the grade A1 and those who score below 33 have to appear for the supplementary exams.

RBSE 12th Passing marks 2025

Apart from knowing the RBSE 12th Grading system a candidate must have clear knowledge of the passing marks. In the RBSE 12th examination one must score a minimum marks of 33% in both theory and practical examinations separately. 

The examination is conducted for 3 hours from 8:30 to 11: 45 AM. Compulsory subjects like English and Hindi will be conducted in 100 marks. English and Hindi are compulsory across all streams.  

In the RBSE 12th exams, the elective subjects have different marking schemes. Certain subjects follow an 80-mark theory and 20-mark practical points, while others follow a 70-mark theory and 30-mark practical structure. To pass, one needs to score a minimum of 26 marks in theory and 6 marks in practicals for the 80+20 structure. Similarly, for the 70+30 structure, one must score at least 23 marks in theory and 10 marks in practicals.

Subject-wise RBSE 12th Passing Marks 2025

Subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Computer Science have 70 marks for theory and 30 marks for practical/internal structure. Other subjects typically have 80 marks in theory and 20 marks in practical/internal structure.

RBSE Revaluation & Supplementary Exam 2025

After evaluating the RBSE grading system, passing criteria - subject-wise, if a candidate is not satisfied with their results, the RBSE allows students to apply for revaluation exams. Candidates must submit an application through the official website of RBSE within the given timeline, paying the required fee per subject.

Students who can't score the minimum passing mark of 33 percent, have to appear for the RBSE 12th supplementary exam. It provides a second chance for students to improve their scores. Students must register for the supplementary exam and appear for it as per the official guidelines in the website. The supplementary examinations are typically conducted in August. So it is beneficial to visit the official website regularly.
